This study aims to understand and explore the barriers to assistive technology for individuals with mobility disabilities. A survey was carried out among 300 people from both rural and urban areas of northern India with mobility disabilities, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Phase I developed a valid tool to measure barriers, while Phase II applied the tool in a survey.

Exploring the therapeutic promise of fisetin: molecular mechanisms and clinical aspects in lung cancer.

Fisetin, a flavonol belonging to the flavonoid subclass, is a ubiquitous dietary flavonoid present in fruits and vegetables, including fruit peels, and has proven potential for anticancer activity, especially for lung cancer - a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. The current paper provides the most detailed and elaborate list of the various roles of fisetin in experimentally induced lung cancer cells, and these roles include the promotion of apoptosis, inhibition of cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, as well as the regulation of autophagy. Among the molecular targets, some identified pathways, such as PI3K/Akt, MAPK, and NF-κB, that fisetin affects are crucial for tumor formation, so it can be considered a potential chemopreventive agent.

Assessment of population ecology and potential habitat modelling of Schleichera oleosa in Uttarakhand Himalaya of India: implications for management and conservation.

Schleichera oleosa (Lour.) Oken is an important tree species and holds great ecological and economical importance in the lower Western Himalaya of India. Unfortunately, its populations in the region are facing decline due to range of natural (extreme weather/edaphic conditions and invasion of invasive alien species) and human-induced disturbances (grazing, lopping for fodder and fuel wood consumption).

Facile fabrication of a novel chitosan/carboxymethyl cellulose/bentonite/CuO nanocomposite for enhanced photocatalytic and antibacterial applications.

In this study, an eco-friendly chitosan/carboxymethyl cellulose/bentonite/CuO nanocomposite (CS/CMC/BN/CuO NC) was synthesized utilizing algal-mediated copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs). The resulting hybrid nanocomposite was thoroughly characterized using advanced techniques, including XRD, FTIR, UV-vis, FE-SEM, HR-TEM, and BET analysis. The photocatalytic activity of the hybrid nanocomposite was assessed by the degradation of brilliant cresyl blue (BCB) dye under visible light irradiation, while the antibacterial activity of the hybrid nanocomposite was evaluated against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains.

This study aimed to characterize the SARS-CoV-2 exposures among healthcare personnel and determine the risk level of those events, thereby identifying and focusing on the key areas that influence workplace safety.

Every year, the dependence of optical imaging and holography on computational methods is increasing significantly to the extent that optical methods and components are being completely and efficiently replaced with computational methods at low cost. This roadmap reviews the current scenario in four major areas namely incoherent digital holography, quantitative phase imaging, imaging through scattering layers, and super-resolution imaging.

An in-depth study on survival mechanism of bacterial isolates in disinfectants within the hospital environment.

Introduction: The emergence of disinfectant resistance has become a severe threat due to reduced effectiveness. This study was undertaken to determine how bacteria adapt to survive exposure to disinfectants in the busiest section of a tertiary care hospital in Varanasi, India.

Methods: Four isolates (two , Kp1 and Kp2; two , Pa1 and Pa2) were obtained from chlorhexidine (CHX)-based handwash during microbiological surveillance of "in-use disinfectants" in hospital.

Introduction: The U1 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) forms ribonucleoprotein particles (RNPs) such as U1 snRNP and U1-TAF15 snRNP. U1 snRNP is one of the most studied RNPs due to its critical role in pre-mRNA splicing in defining the 5' splice site (5'ss) of every exon through direct interactions with sequences at exon/intron junctions. Recent reports support the role of U1 snRNP in all steps of transcription, namely initiation, elongation, and termination.

Biogenic synthesis of CuO/ZnO nanocomposite from Bauhinia variegate flower extract for highly sensitive electrochemical detection of vitamin B.

In this study, we report the preparation of bio-inspired binary CuO/ZnO nanocomposite (bb-CuO/ZnO nanocomposite) via the biological route using Bauhinia variegata flower extract following hydrothermal treatment. The prepared bb-CuO/ZnO nanocomposite was electrophoretically deposited (EPD) on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate to develop bb-CuO/ZnO/ITO biosensing electrode which is employed for the determination of vitamin B (Riboflavin) through electrochemical techniques. Physicochemical assets of the prepared bb-CuO/ZnO nanocomposite have been extensively evaluated and make use of different characterization techniques including powder XRD, FT-IR, AFM, SEM, TEM, EDX, XPS, Raman, and TGA.

Elucidating the role of chemokines in inflammaging associated atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases.

Age-related inflammation or inflammaging is a critical deciding factor of physiological homeostasis during aging. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are exquisitely associated with aging and inflammation and are one of the leading causes of high mortality in the elderly population. Inflammaging comprises dysregulation of crosstalk between the vascular and cardiac tissues that deteriorates the vasculature network leading to development of atherosclerosis and atherosclerotic-associated CVDs in elderly populations.

The remarkable conservation of the FtsZ among Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, a crucial GTPase in bacterial cell division, has emerged as a promising antibacterial drug target to combat antibacterial resistance. There have been several coordinated efforts to develop inhibitors against FtsZ which can also serve as potential candidates for future antibiotics. In the present study, a natural product-like library (≈50,000 compounds) was employed to conduct HTVS against Staphylococcus aureus FtsZ protein (PDB Id: 6KVP).
