Atypical parathyroid tumors (APTs) are a rare subtype of parathyroid neoplasms characterized by diagnostic challenges and an uncertain prognosis. This study assessed implant survival and clinical outcomes while evaluating systemic changes during 1 year of implant treatment.
Materials And Methods: Postmenopausal women requiring dental implants were enrolled at the Yonsei University Dental Hospital.
Unlabelled: Video-estimated peak jump power (vJP) using deep learning showed strong agreement with ground truth jump power (gJP). vJP was associated with sarcopenia, age, and muscle parameters in adults, with providing a proof-of-concept that markerless monitoring of peak jump power could be feasible in daily life space.
Objectives: Low peak countermovement jump power measured by ground force plate (GFP) is associated with sarcopenia, impaired physical function, and elevated risk of fracture in older adults.
Deep learning (DL) identification of vertebral fractures and osteoporosis in lateral spine radiographs and DXA vertebral fracture assessment (VFA) images may improve fracture risk assessment in older adults. In 26 299 lateral spine radiographs from 9276 individuals attending a tertiary-level institution (60% train set; 20% validation set; 20% test set; VERTE-X cohort), DL models were developed to detect prevalent vertebral fracture (pVF) and osteoporosis. The pre-trained DL models from lateral spine radiographs were then fine-tuned in 30% of a DXA VFA dataset (KURE cohort), with performance evaluated in the remaining 70% test set.

Background: Primary aldosteronism can be treated medically but there is no standardised method to evaluate treatment outcomes. We aimed to develop criteria for assessing the outcomes of targeted medical treatment of primary aldosteronism, analyse outcomes across an international cohort, and identify factors associated with a complete treatment response.
Methods: An international panel of 31 primary aldosteronism experts used the Delphi method to reach consensus on the definition of complete, partial, or absent biochemical and clinical outcomes of medical treatment of primary aldosteronism.
Unlabelled: We investigated the efficacy of romosozumab in premenopausal women with low bone mass. Romosozumab substantially increased bone mineral density and trabecular bone score in these women, aligning with its proven therapeutic benefits for postmenopausal osteoporosis.
Purpose: Romosozumab, an anti-sclerostin antibody, is a promising anabolic agent that increases bone formation and decreases bone resorption.
Background: In this study, we developed and validated machine learning models to predict primary aldosteronism (PA) in hypertensive East-Asian patients, comparing their performance against the traditional saline infusion test. The motivation for this development arises from the need to provide a more efficient and standardized diagnostic approach, because the saline infusion test, although considered a gold standard, is often cumbersome, is time-consuming, and lacks uniform protocols. By offering an alternative diagnostic method, this study seeks to enhance patient care through quicker and potentially more reliable PA detection.

Studies were included if FRAX was used to identify future osteoporotic fractures or a densitometric diagnosis of osteoporosis in an Asian population and reported the area under the curve (AUC) values.

Background: Recent evidence indicates that a dysregulated host metabolism influences treatment outcomes in patients with breast cancer. We investigated the association of computed tomography (CT)-derived body composition indices with therapeutic responses in patients with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer (ABC) on endocrine plus CDK4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) treatment.
Methods: The study involved a retrospective cohort of patients with ABC at the Yonsei Cancer Center who received CDK4/6i and aromatase inhibitors as first-line therapy between January 2017 and October 2020.
Background: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) are the leading cause of death related to multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1). Previous studies have linked certain mutations in the MEN1 gene and loss of interactions with MENIN's functional partners to the mortality or aggressiveness of PNETs. This population-based cohort study aimed to investigate the association of SGLT2i use with risks of incident dementia and Parkinson disease (PD) in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: This was a retrospective examination of data from a cohort of 1,348,362 participants with type 2 diabetes (≥40 years), who started antidiabetic drugs from 2014 to 2019, evaluated using the Korean National Health Insurance Service Database.

These EDCs, by interfering with the endocrine system's normal functioning, pose a significant risk to bone metabolism, potentially leading to a heightened susceptibility to bone-related disorders and diseases. Notably, BPA has been shown to inhibit the differentiation of osteoblasts and promote the apoptosis of osteoblasts, which results in altered bone turnover status.
