A20, encoded by the TNFAIP3 gene, is a protein linked to Crohn's disease and celiac disease in humans. We now find that mice expressing point mutations in A20's M1-ubiquitin-binding zinc finger 7 (ZF7) motif spontaneously develop proximal enteritis that requires both luminal microbes and T cells. Cellular and transcriptomic profiling reveals expansion of Th17 cells and exuberant expression of IL-17A and IL-22 in intestinal lamina propria of A20ZF7 mice.

This study aimed to investigate the association between the histological activity at diagnosis and endoscopic findings, either at diagnosis or at the first follow-up, in patients with UC.
Methods: Through a retrospective review of 1 year of medical records, this study evaluated the association between histological and endoscopic activity in 51 patients newly diagnosed with UC at our hospital between March 2015 and February 2022.

Irritable bowel syndrome with predominant diarrhea (IBS-D) is a subtype of irritable bowel syndrome that causes frequent loose stools. Although the precise pathophysiology remains unclear, factors, such as gut microbiota imbalance, visceral hypersensitivity, intestinal permeability changes, and stress, play significant roles. Recent studies have suggested that dysbiosis is a key contributor to IBS-D pathogenesis, emphasizing the need for targeted therapeutic strategies.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic, disabling, and functional bowel disorder that significantly affects social functioning and reduces quality of life and increases social costs. The Korean Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility published clinical practice guidelines on the management of IBS based on a systematic review of the literature in 2017, and planned to revise these guidelines in light of new evidence on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of IBS. The current revised version of the guidelines is consistent with the previous version and targets adults diagnosed with or suspected of having IBS.

Methods: This retrospective study included 37 patients diagnosed with HFRS from January 2012 to December 2023 who had available clinical laboratory and abdominal CT data during the acute phase. The CT severity score (range 0-5) was based on perirenal fat stranding, pararenal fascia thickening, anterior pararenal space fat stranding, ascites, and pleural effusion.
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection typically affects immunocompromised individuals. However, CMV-associated enteritis involving the entire small intestine is rare in immunocompetent patients. We report a case of a 60-year-old immunocompetent woman with a history of diabetes mellitus who presented with diarrhea for 3 weeks.

In this study, the effects of Cl radicals on dry development of spin-coated metal oxide resist (MOR) and changes in its surface binding states were investigated to verify the mechanism of dry development. Dry development characteristics of tin hydroxide (Tin OH), which is one of the MOR candidates for next generation lithography, were investigated as functions of process time and temperature using a Cl radicals source. Non-UV-exposed Tin OH film showed a linear etch rate (1.

Materials And Methods: Two hundred fifty-one patients with surgically confirmed IPMNs (118 malignant [invasive carcinoma/high-grade dysplasia] and 133 benign [low-grade dysplasia]) were retrospectively enrolled. The grade of PanIN (233 absent/low-grade and 18 high-grade) was recorded, and all patients underwent serial CT follow-up before and after surgery.

However, LOBs still suffer from high overpotential and poor cycling stability resulting from difficulties in the decomposition of discharge reaction LiO products. Here, a 3D open network catalyst structure is proposed based on highly-thin and porous multi-metal oxide nanofibers (MMONFs) developed by a facile electrospinning approach coupled with a heat treatment process.

However, living abroad can be stressful and adversely affect international students' mental and physical health. This study, conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, investigated stress-related factors affecting the socio-psychological health of Chinese students, the greatest proportion of international students in Korea.

The experiment used 8-week-old CBA mice exposed to white noise at an intensity of 110 dB SPL for 2 h, with hearing loss confirmed by the auditory brainstem response test. Dexamethasone was administered by intraperitoneal injection for 5 days, and the therapeutic effect was investigated for 3 weeks.

However, basic physics for this PbS core/MAP shell QD system is still unclear and needs to be clarified to further improve efficiency. Therefore, in this study, we investigate how MAP shell thickness affects device performance and dynamics of charge carriers for PbS QD-sensitized solar cells.

Improved methods are required to compare large numbers of synthetic knockin (KI) sequences to reprogram cell functions. Here, we developed modular pooled KI screening (ModPoKI), an adaptable platform for modular construction of DNA KI libraries using barcoded multicistronic adaptors.

The condition is characterized by insulin resistance and impaired function of pancreatic β-cells, leading to elevated blood glucose levels. In this study, the antidiabetic effects of extract (EAE) on zebrafish with damaged pancreatic islets caused by insulin resistance were investigated.

Macrolactones typically possess complex stereochemistry, the assignments of which have been one of the most difficult undertakings in natural products chemistry, and in most cases, the use of X-ray diffraction methods and total synthesis have been the major methods of assigning their absolute configurations. More recently, however, it has become apparent that the integration of bioinformatic data is growing in utility to assign absolute configurations.

However, the clinical significance of cardiac symptoms and abnormal electrocardiography (ECG) findings in patients with NAFLD associated with advanced liver fibrosis is unclear. Therefore, our study was aimed to evaluate the clinical implications based on the association between cardiac symptoms with ECG abnormalities for advanced liver fibrosis in patients with NAFLD.
