Acute monocytic leukaemia, a subtype of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), is a highly aggressive malignancy characterised by a poor prognosis, primarily due to the ability of leukaemic cells to evade immune surveillance. In this study, we demonstrate that homoharringtonine (HHT), an FDA-approved therapeutic agent for chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML), inhibits this immune evasion by targeting the FTO/m6A/LILRB4 signalling pathway in monocytic AML. Utilising RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and various functional assays, we reveal that HHT treatment significantly reduces LILRB4 expression at both the RNA and protein levels, suggesting that the effects of HHT on LILRB4 are distinct from its well-established role as a protein synthesis inhibitor.

In order to achieve precise risk control of medical devices, it is necessary to establish a scientific evaluation system throughout the entire life cycle of medical devices that focuses on risk identification and risk control. This study summarizes the medical device adverse event monitoring system of the US on regulatory agencies and regulatory law, adverse events reporting forms and time limits, adverse event database, adverse event report analysis and evaluation, as well as adverse event feedback and control. Furthermore, some examples are provided to illustrate the application of the MAUDE database in risk analysis, physical and mechanical performance research, and clinical evaluation of medical device registration and application materials.

This study explores the removal of Cd(ii) from wastewater using a microbial electrolysis cell (MEC) to investigate the electrochemical performance and removal kinetics of an anodic polarity reversal biocathode and the mechanism of action of electrochemically active bacteria. Comparative electrochemical methods showed that using an anodic polarity reversal biocathode resulted in greater than 90% removal of different concentrations of Cd(ii) within three days, which may be related to the catalytic effect of anodic electrochemically active bacteria. However, due to the ability of bacteria to regulate, up to nearly 2 mg L of Cd(ii) ions will remain in solution.

In this study, the characteristics of ideal materials for the ossicular replacement prosthesis were analyzed by searching the types of materials used in clinical practice and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various materials and structures. At the same time, in combination with the current evaluation requirements and evaluation experience, the focus of the performance research project of ossicular replacement prosthesis in the process of registration is discussed to clarify the performance evaluation requirements of these products, so as to provide reference for the future work of manufacturers and regulators.
