To address the limitations of current artificial neurons in neuromorphic hardware implementation, NbO-based bifunctional memristors are fabricated to construct oscillatory units and advanced neuronal modules. NbObased memristors operate as either threshold-switching memristors (TSMs) or dynamic memristors (DyMs), depending on whether electroforming is applied. TSMs are employed to build oscillatory units and further reconfigured into a weighted multi-terminal neuronal module, enabling real-time spatiotemporal summation of input spikes based on the leaky integrate-and-fire model.

Background: Humeral capitellum osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) is a common condition among overhead throwing athletes and is typically treated surgically. While stable lesions can be treated nonoperatively, untreated unstable lesions can lead to significant elbow discomfort and impaired quality of life. This study reviews the revision rate and interval in athletes with elbow OCD following primary surgery.

While discectomy is commonly performed, it risks disc degeneration and spinal instability. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and radiographic outcomes of full-endoscopic interlaminar standalone decompression as a minimally invasive, disc-preserving alternative to discectomy for treating single-level LRS with subligamentous disc herniation.

Background: The growing number of adults with congenital heart disease has led to the formation of dedicated centers to provide specialized care. There is a paucity of published data on the organization, staffing, and resources available when adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) patients are hospitalized in intensive care settings. This study aims to describe the delivery of intensive care for ACHD patients in the United States and identify key differences between accredited centers or those pending accreditation and non-accredited Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) centers.

Standard therapy includes estradiol, with or without an antiandrogen. Our clinical observations suggest that currently recommended injectable estradiol dosing may lead to supratherapeutic estradiol levels.

Conventional feedforward neural networks (FNNs) often fail to effectively capture temporal dependencies. In this work, we propose an indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) thin-film transistor (TFT) gated by a hafnium oxide (HfO) dielectric layer, exhibiting voltage-modulated fading memory dynamics.

The conventional deltopectoral (DP) approach with structural allograft for medial support is widely used but can involve significant soft tissue disruption. This study compares clinical and radiographic outcomes between a minimally invasive deltoid-split (MIS-DS) approach without allograft and the traditional DP approach with allograft.

This study investigates the use of dynamic memristors Ta/IGZO/TaO/Pt combined with peripheral circuits to emulate the leaky integrate-and-fire behavior of neurons, focusing on incorporating a refractory period. The refractory period is crucial as it prevents neurons from becoming overactive and ensures precise timing in signal processing.

However, sensing and encoding color information has been overlooked. Therefore, this work utilizes an indium-gallium-zinc oxide (IGZO) phototransistor to detect varying densities of red, green, and blue (RGB) light, converting them into corresponding drain current (I) states.

Background: The direct anterior approach (DAA) for total hip arthroplasty (THA) has gained popularity due to perceived advantages in achieving better early outcomes. However, the theoretical benefits such as precise implant positioning and accurate leg length restoration are still inconsistent. In this study, we compared implant position and leg length discrepancy (LLD) of the DAA and posterolateral approach (PLA) conducted by a single surgeon who had mastered both approaches.

Manipulating the motion of water droplets on surfaces, which is crucial for various applications, such as microfluidics and heat transfer, presents considerable challenges, primarily due to the significant influence of capillary forces. This effect becomes more pronounced when droplets are in close proximity, often resulting in undesired coalescence. Triboelectrification, which involves charging pure water droplets, is a promising approach to enhance the ability to manipulate water droplets.

Despite the efficacy of this treatment for unicompartmental knee diseases, its specific impact on this population remains unknown.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed prospectively collected data of patients who underwent OUKA with MP between 2018 and 2021, including demographic information, component position, preoperative and postoperative knee range of motion (ROM), numeric rating scale (NRS), and 2011 Knee Society Score-functional activity score (2011 KSS-FAS).
Physical reservoirs employed to map time-series data and analyze extracted features have attracted interest owing to their low training cost and mitigated interconnection complexity. This study reports a physical reservoir based on a bilayer oxide-based dynamic memristor. The proposed device exhibits a nonlinear current response and short-term memory (STM), satisfying the requirements of reservoir computing (RC).

Neuromorphic computing, inspired by the biological neuronal system, is a high potential approach to substantially alleviate the cost of computational latency and energy for massive data processing. Artificial synapses with regulable synaptic weights are the basis of neuromorphic computation, providing an efficient and low-power system to overcome the constraints of the von Neumann architecture. Here, we report an ITO/TaO-based synaptic capacitor and transistor.

This strategy involves a transition-metal-free, base-mediated tandem - and -alkylative annulation of β-ketosulfones with 1,2-bisbromomethyl arenes with moderate to excellent yields under open-vessel reaction conditions. In the overall reaction process, two carbon-carbon (C-C) and two carbon-oxygen (C-O) bonds are formed.
