We developed an Raman spectroscopy method to visualize lithium deposition and diffusion at the microelectrode interface. Lithium deposition released free EC and FSA, while dissolution promoted rapid Li coordination. The estimated diffusion layer thickness matched theoretical predictions, highlighting micro-Raman spectroscopy's potential for studying lithium-ion battery interfaces.

We describe a case of primary bone anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive ALCL presented as a giant extraskeletal mass with extensive coagulation necrosis. There have been only a few case reports detailing radiological imaging of primary bone ALCL with extraskeletal extension and to the best of our knowledge this is the first documented case associating ALCL with coagulation necrosis.

Recent advancements, such as negative pressure wound therapy, have demonstrated efficacy but have practical limitations, such as patient immobility and fall risk, restricting their broader application. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy, recognized by the International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment, has shown potential in treating complex wounds, ulcers, and burns.

Background: Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone tumor. Although previous studies reported genetic differences between younger and older patients, comprehensive nationwide data remain scarce. This study aimed to describe age-related differences in demographics, treatment, and survival using Japan's Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor (BSTT) Registry.

Muscle strength and joint and nervous system functions decline with age and in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The Japanese Orthopaedic Association has defined locomotive syndrome (LoS) as a musculoskeletal disorder primarily caused by aging. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the prevalence of LoS and identify factors associated with its development in patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Purpose: Our previous NECO phase II studies on high-grade osteosarcoma suggested that administering ifosfamide (IF; 16 g/m [4g/m once on day 1, then 2g/m once on days 2-7] × six) to patients showing a poor response (PrRsp) to preoperative chemotherapy with methotrexate, doxorubicin, and cisplatin (MAP) improves their prognoses. In this Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG) study, JCOG0905, we aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of IF in patients with PrRsp.
Methods: JCOG0905 is a multicenter, open-label, multi-institutional, randomized trial.

To achieve high-performance lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), controlling interfacial reactions at the electrode/electrolyte interface is intensely studied by introducing chemical additives into the electrolyte solution. These additives preferentially decompose over other electrolyte components, forming a stable interphase film at the electrode/electrolyte interface, which protects against capacity degradation and overcharging. However, the composite nature of conventional LIB electrodes makes it challenging to directly observe the electrochemical properties and formation process of the passivation film on the active material alone.

Backgrounds: People with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) frequently report fatigue. This symptom is associated with hepatic inflammation and fibrosis. FibroScan-aspartate aminotransferase (FAST) score is a noninvasive measurement tool that can be used to assess the severity of MASLD.

Diagnosing fractures, especially occult and non-displaced ones, can be challenging even with advanced imaging techniques. This report describes the diagnostic challenges and surgical management of a rare combination of periprosthetic femoral fracture and an ipsilateral acetabular occult non-displaced fracture.

Introduction The position of finger immobilization after flexor tendon rupture repair is changed to the extended position to prevent flexion contracture of the interphalangeal (IP) joint. However, in Strickland's assessment, We believe that a reduction in TAF (total active flexion) affects the outcome and that extension fixation is not necessarily the primary focus. For example, there are management methods that swap the fixed position between day and night.

However, in conventional cervical laminoplasty, detailed evaluation is difficult because of ultrasound attenuation. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to perform a cervical laminoplasty using a modified surgical technique and evaluate the spinal cord.

Patients And Methods: In total, 47 patients who started pazopanib treatment for renal cell carcinoma or soft tissue sarcoma during hospitalization at Kurume University Hospital from November 2012 to February 2020 were included in the study.
All-solid-state Na polymer batteries are desired as the next generation of high-capacity batteries owing to their high safety and abundant resources. However, the degradation of the positive electrode/electrolyte interface with cycling leads to a decrease in capacity and a significant increase in interfacial resistance. In this study, to suppress the interfacial degradation, we prepared positive electrode sheets through a combination of simple mixing and pasting with the addition of binders and conductive additives, using NaCoO coated with two types of inorganic oxides as the active material.

The prevalence and incidence differ between male and female individuals, and the mechanism underlying this difference remains largely unclear. In the present study, we collected subsynovial connective tissues from six male and six female patients diagnosed with idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome during surgery.

Early surgical resection is the optimal strategy for preventing TIO progression. Thus, tumor localization is a priority for successful treatment.

Nutritional disorders in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are associated with cachexia, sarcopenia, and weight loss. In particular, weight loss is a prognostic factor in COPD independent of pulmonary function, and energy malnutrition is a contributing factor. Frequent exacerbation hospitalization is also a prognostic factor for COPD patients.

We investigated supported-MoO materials effective for the chemical looping dry reforming of methane (CL-DRM) to decrease the reaction temperature. Ni-modified molybdenum zirconia (Ni/MoO/ZrO) showed CL-DRM activity under isothermal reaction conditions of 650 °C, which was 100-200 °C lower than the previously reported oxide-based materials. Ni/MoO/ZrO activity strongly depends on the MoO loading amount.
