Objective: The anti-correlation between the default mode network (DMN) and task-positive network (TPN) is a stable characteristic of normal brain activity. However, in idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE), this anti-correlation is often disrupted and strongly associated with epileptic seizures. This study aims to use periodic spatiotemporal patterns (PSTP) analysis to elucidate the relationship between the DMN-TPN anti-correlation and epileptic activity, providing new insights into the neural mechanisms underlying IGE.

We previously reported that circACTN4 could bind with FUBP1 to promote tumorigenesis and the development of breast cancer (BC) by increasing the expression of MYC. However, its exact molecular mechanism and biological function have not been fully elucidated.

Backgrounds/objective: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) has proved the viability of alleviating depression symptoms by stimulating deep reward-related nuclei. This study aims to investigate the abnormal connectivity profiles among superficial, intermediate, and deep brain regions within the reward circuit in major depressive disorder (MDD) and therefore provides references for identifying potential superficial cortical targets for non-invasive neuromodulation.
Methods: Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data were collected from a cohort of depression patients (N = 52) and demographically matched healthy controls (N = 60).
Fermentation is crucial for inducing desirable flavor and aroma profiles in cocoa products. This research focused on identifying microbial strains isolated from spontaneous cocoa fermentation in Hainan through 16S and Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) sequencing. Pectinase activity was screened, and metabolic dynamics of sugars and organic acids were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography.

This study aimed to investigate the physicochemical properties and biological activities of noni pectin (NP) extracted using various solvents, three fractions of noni pectin were obtained using traditional chemical and deep eutectic solvents. NPs are composed of various ratios of galacturonic acid, arabinose, rhamnose, xylose, glucose, and galactose with different yields, molecular weights, esterification degrees (DE), and microstructures. Among the fractions, noni pectin extracted with Betaine-citric acid (BNP) exhibited higher molecular weight, degree for esterification and pancreatic lipase (PL) inhibitory activity than the other fractions.

However, its application in food is limited because of its susceptibility to thermal degradation during food processing, which affects both pigment stability and color. Despite its growing use, there is limited research on how common food ingredients can mitigate this degradation.

Objective: Dystonic posturing (DP) is a common semiology in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). We aimed to explore cerebellar gradient alterations in functional connectivity in TLE patients with and without DP.
Methods: Resting-state functional MRI data were obtained in 60 TLE patients and 32 matched healthy controls.
Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1) may be involved in inflammatory response and secondary brain injury after acute brain injury. We gauged serum DKK-1 levels and further assessed its correlation with disease severity and investigated its predictive value for 90-day prognosis in patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH). Serum DKK-1 levels were measured in 128 sICH patients and 128 healthy controls.

Elemental doping is a promising way for enhancing the electrocatalytic activity of metal oxides. Herein, we fabricate Ti/ TiO-CB-Ce anode materials by the modification means of carbon black and cerium co-doped TiO, and this shift effectively improves the interfacial charge transfer rate of TiO and •OH yield in the electrocatalytic process. Remarkably, the TiO-CB-Ce anode exhibits excellent efficiency of minocycline (MNC) wastewater treatment (100% removal within 20 min), and the removal rate reduces from 100 to 98.

The results indicated that the treatment of raw beef significantly impacted the quality and flavor of sauced beef. Sauced chilled beef (CRSB) exhibited the highest content of fatty acids and total amino acids.

Aims: Motor abnormalities have been identified as one common symptom in patients with generalized tonic-clonic seizures (GTCS) inspiring us to explore the disease in a motor execution condition, which might provide novel insight into the pathomechanism.
Methods: Resting-state and motor-task fMRI data were collected from 50 patients with GTCS, including 18 patients newly diagnosed without antiepileptic drugs (ND_GTCS) and 32 patients receiving antiepileptic drugs (AEDs_GTCS). Motor activation and its association with head motion and cerebral gradients were assessed.
Current investigations have illuminated the essential roles played by circular RNAs (circRNAs) in driving breast cancer (BC) tumorigenesis. However, the functional implications and molecular underpinnings of most circRNAs in BC are not well characterized. Here, Circular RNA (circRNA) expression profiles were analyzed in four surgically resected BC cases along with adjacent non-cancerous tissues applying RNA microarray analysis.

The poor conductivity, poor stability, and agglomeration of iron-based metal organic framework MIL-88A(Fe) limit its application as persulfate (PS) activator in water purification. Herein, MXene-supported MIL-88A(Fe) composites (M88A/MX) were synthesized to enhance its adsorption and catalytic capability for tetracycline (TC) removal. Scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to characterize prepared materials, confirming the successful attachment of MIL-88A(Fe) to the surface of MXene.
