Inspired by the survival strategies of pyomelanin-producing microbes, we synthesize pyomelanin nanoparticles (PMNPs) from homogentisic acid- γ-lactone via auto-oxidation and investigate their biomedical potential. PMNPs possess distinct physicochemical properties, including reactive oxygen species scavenging and microenvironment-responsive self-disassembly. Under intestinal conditions, PMNPs self-disassemble and penetrate the nanoscale pores of the mucin layer.

This study aims to develop novel modified drug delivery systems (MDDS) including solid dispersions, solid self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (S-SNEDDS) and inclusion compound (IC) of poorly water-soluble tadalafil using various biological macromolecules and compare their ability to improve solubility, dissolution and bioavailability. Current treatments for autoimmune diseases often involve broad-acting immunosuppressants, which carry risks such as infections and malignancies. Herein, we reported novel docetaxel-decorated solid lipid nanoparticle (DCT-SLN)-loaded dual thermoreversible system (DCT-DRTS) for intramuscular administration with reduced burst effect, sustained release and improved antitumor efficacy. The mesoporous calcium silicate (Ca-silicate) and hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) were utilised as hydrophobic carrier and hydrophilic carrier, respectively. This retrospective observational study aimed to examine the correlation and correspondence between skeletal maturation indicators (SMI), cervical vertebral maturation indicators (CVMI), and radius-ulna-short bones (RUS) skeletal maturity scores in Korean adolescents, and to determine whether easily obtainable SMI or CVMI can replace the RUS skeletal maturity score.
