Diabetic wound healing remains a critical clinical challenge due to persistent inflammation derived from long-term hyperglycemia. To address this challenge, we reported a zinc ion coordinated CMCS hydrogel for pH responsive delivery of ellagic acid to fulfill diabetic wound management. The incorporation of zinc ions and EA reinforce the hydrogel network via coordination and hydrogen bonding, and confer a pH-responsive release of EA under simulative wound microenvironment.

Turbulence widely appears in natural and industrial environments, with its multi-scale structures posing significant challenges for accurate simulation and prediction. Nowadays, turbulence databases play a crucial role in advancing scientific research. However, existing turbulence databases primarily focus on fundamental turbulence problems and are predominantly limited to turbulent flows at low-to-moderate Reynolds number, making them insufficient to address high-Reynolds-number turbulence challenges in complex engineering applications.

Nickel (Ni)-based single crystalline superalloys are the most important high-temperature service metallic materials for aircraft engine blades. These alloys' microstructures and mechanical properties must remain stable under high temperature and stress conditions for long periods of time. Rhenium (Re) has been the most effective alloying element, which serves as a guide to distinguish the third-generation Ni-based single crystalline superalloys.

New psychoactive substances (NPS) are substances that are not controlled by international drug control conventions but are abused and pose a threat to public health. Proscaline and methallylescaline are two phenylethylamines with psychoactive and stimulant effects and are also derivatives of the classic hallucinogen mescaline. However, limited toxicity information on proscaline and methallylescaline has hindered the identification of these two NPS.

We introduce, for the first time, an inorganic base-mediated cyclization and auto-oxidation of bisallenones/bisalkynones. This reaction is realized under mild conditions through precise control of the base and atmosphere, providing a wide range of structurally diverse fused-pyran derivatives with moderate to excellent yields. Utilizing KOH as the initiator under a nitrogen atmosphere, a series of novel cyclohexane-fused pyran derivatives was obtained as the primary product.

Article Synopsis
  • Effect-directed analysis (EDA) is a method used to identify toxic contaminants in the environment, but traditional EDA procedures can be slow and labor-intensive.
  • A new strategy called solid phase microextraction ligand fishing (SPME-LF) has been proposed to quickly identify acetylcholinesterase (AChE) active compounds in water by using specially coated fibers.
  • SPME-LF is more efficient than conventional EDA because it reduces the need for repetitive sample separations and bioassays, making it a cost-effective and user-friendly approach for rapid toxicant screening in aquatic environments.

The types and quantities of new psychoactive substances synthesized based on structural modifications have increased rapidly in recent years and pose a great challenge to clinical and forensic laboratories. N-benzyl derivatives of phenethylamines, 25B-NBOH, 25E-NBOH, 25H-NBOH, and 25iP-NBOMe have begun to flow into the black market and have caused several poisoning cases and even fatal cases. The aim of this study was to avoid false negative results by detecting the parent drug and its metabolites to extend the detection window in biological matrices and provide basic data for the simultaneous determination of illegal drugs and metabolites in forensic and emergency cases.

Body-centred cubic refractory multi-principal element alloys (MPEAs), with several refractory metal elements as constituents and featuring a yield strength greater than one gigapascal, are promising materials to meet the demands of aggressive structural applications. Their low-to-no tensile ductility at room temperature, however, limits their processability and scaled-up application. Here we present a HfNbTiVAl alloy that shows remarkable tensile ductility (roughly 20%) and ultrahigh yield strength (roughly 1,390 megapascals).

Partial label learning (PLL) is an important problem that allows each training example to be labeled with a coarse candidate set with the ground-truth label included. However, in a more practical but challenging scenario, the annotator may miss the ground-truth and provide a wrong candidate set, which is known as the noisy PLL problem. To remedy this problem, we propose the PiCO+ framework that simultaneously disambiguates the candidate sets and mitigates label noise.
