In the context of healthy food consumption, this research aims to explore the moderating role of situational modes of thinking for both 1) the attraction effect (individuals tend to choose options that are similar to others but dominate inferior alternatives) and 2) the compromise effect (individuals prefer intermediate options over those with high- and low-end extremes). With the experimental priming of thinking style (analytic vs. holistic), these context effects were investigated by measuring French participants' purchase intention and willingness to pay for poke bowls-a lower-calorie, nutrient-dense food.

Climate change has significantly affected the subalpine ecosystems, leading to mass die-offs of the Korean fir tree, a key climate-sensitive species in these environments. Proactive analysis of the phenotypic responses of these trees to climate change or the establishment of preemptive strategies for trees to adapt to these environmental changes remains a challenge. The current study aimed to investigate the impact of climate change on the health of Korean fir (Abies koreana) in the subalpine ecosystem of Jirisan Mountain, South Korea.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study focused on analyzing the genomes of monkeypox virus isolates from patients in the Republic of Korea to understand how the virus spreads and evolves over time.
  • - Eight monkeypox virus isolates were classified into Clade IIb, with notable lineages identified including B.1.1, A.2.1, and B.1.3, with B.1.3 being prevalent among isolates from 2023.
  • - The findings suggest that the unique genetic characteristics of these Far East isolates indicate a possible start of local transmission of the B.1.3 lineage in early 2023, particularly among six patients with no recent travel history.

Following the worldwide surge in mpox (monkeypox) in 2022, cases have persisted in Asia, including South Korea, and sexual contact is presumed as the predominant mode of transmission, with a discernible surge in prevalence among immunocompromised patients. Drugs such as tecovirimat can result in drug-resistant mutations, presenting obstacles to treatment. This study aimed to ascertain the presence of tecovirimat-related resistant mutations through genomic analysis of the monkeypox virus isolated from a reported case involving prolonged viral shedding in South Korea.

Knowledge of input blood to the brain, which is represented as total cerebral blood flow (tCBF), is important in evaluating brain health. Phase-contrast (PC) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enables blood velocity mapping, allowing for noninvasive measurements of tCBF. In the procedure, manual selection of brain-feeding arteries is an essential step, but is time-consuming and often subjective.

Reverse correlation (RC) method has been recently used to visualize mental representations of self. Previous studies have mainly examined the relationship between psychological aspects measured by self-reports and classification images of self (self-CIs), which are visual proxies of self-image generated through the RC method. In Experiment 1 ( = 118), to extend the validity of self-CIs, we employed social evaluation on top of self-reports as criterion variables and examined the relationship between self-CIs and social evaluation provided by clinical psychologists.
