Precise lymph node evaluation is fundamental to optimize CDK4/6 inhibitor therapy in luminal breast cancer, particularly given contemporary trends toward axillary surgery de-escalation that may compromise traditional lymph node staging for recurrence risk evaluation. The lymph node prediction network (LNPN) was developed as a multi-modal model incorporating both clinicopathological parameters and ultrasonographic characteristics for lymph node burden differentiation. In a multicenter cohort of 411 patients, LNPN demonstrated robust performance, achieving an AUC of 0.

Unidirectional moisture-wicking fabrics have garnered significant attention due to their ability to swiftly transport sweat away from the surface of the human skin, thereby enhancing the thermal and moisture comfort of athletes, boiler workers, and other individuals engaged in high-temperature occupations. However, existing nylon/polyester moisture-wicking fabrics lack rapid transport, causing discomfort. Therefore, inspired by bamboo fiber, multistage water-conducting fibrous membranes with superhydrophilic nanochannel and asymmetric wettability are prepared via multistep electrospinning and soaking treatment.

Background: After hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is the second most common primary liver cancer. Timely and accurate identification of ICC histological grade is critical for guiding clinical diagnosis and treatment planning.

Method: We proposed a dual-branch deep neural network (SiameseNet) based on multiple-instance learning and cross-attention mechanisms to address tumor heterogeneity in ICC histological grade prediction.

Triad child-parent-professional communication is considered a priority in evaluating and optimizing therapeutic alliance in pediatric oncology. This scoping review aimed to map the existing evidence in implementation, influencing factors, and strategies of triadic communication in pediatric oncology. Using Arksey and O'Malley's framework, we searched 5 databases and grey literature until June 15th, 2024.

Article Synopsis
  • - The increasing prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has led to higher psychological stress among caregivers, yet interventions to support their mental health have been largely ignored.
  • - Using the ADDIE model, researchers conducted interviews and field observations, then created a picture book for caregivers and their children to read together, assessing its effects on stress and well-being before and after the reading.
  • - Results showed a significant decrease in caregiver stress levels after reading the book, and participants felt the book reflected their experiences, providing warmth and inspiration, despite most other measures not showing notable changes.

Current electrically heated fabrics provide heat in cold climates, suffer from abundant wasted radiant heat energy to the external environment, and are prone to damage by water. Thus, constructing energy-efficient and superhydrophobic conductive fabrics is in high demand. Therefore, we propose an effective and facile methodology to prepare a superhydrophobic, highly conductive, and trilayered fabric with a connected carbon nanotube (CNT) layer and a titanium dioxide (TiO) nanoparticle heat-reflecting layer.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) stands as the third leading cause of cancer-related fatalities globally. In this study, we observed a significant increase in the expression level of the gene in HCC patients, and it is negatively correlated with the patients' survival rate. While we have previously identified the association between YEATS2 and the survival of pancreatic cancer cells, the regulatory mechanisms and significance in HCC are still to be fully elucidated.

Adrenal glands, vital for steroid secretion and the regulation of metabolism, stress responses and immune activation, experience age-related decline, impacting systemic health. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying adrenal aging remain largely uninvestigated. Here we established a single-nucleus transcriptomic atlas of both young and aged primate suprarenal glands, identifying lipid metabolism and steroidogenic pathways as core processes impacted by aging.

Epigenetic clocks are accurate predictors of human chronological age based on the analysis of DNA methylation (DNAm) at specific CpG sites. However, a systematic comparison between DNA methylation data and other omics datasets has not yet been performed. Moreover, available DNAm age predictors are based on datasets with limited ethnic representation.

Diverse individuals age at different rates and display variable susceptibilities to tissue aging, functional decline and aging-related diseases. Centenarians, exemplifying extreme longevity, serve as models for healthy aging. The field of human aging and longevity research is rapidly advancing, garnering significant attention and accumulating substantial data in recent years.

Background: Translating aging rejuvenation strategies into clinical practice has the potential to address the unmet needs of the global aging population. However, to successfully do so requires precise quantification of aging and its reversal in a way that encompasses the complexity and variation of aging.

Methods: Here, in a cohort of 113 healthy women, tiled in age from young to old, we identified a repertoire of known and previously unknown markers associated with age based on multimodal measurements, including transcripts, proteins, metabolites, microbes, and clinical laboratory values, based on which an integrative aging clock and a suite of customized aging clocks were developed.

The aim of the study was to investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), rs1861612 of delta/notch-like Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)-related receptor (DNER) and rs1884190 in the Delta-like 1 ligand (DLL1) gene and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) susceptibility in a Chinese Han population. DNER rs1861612 and DLL1 rs1884190 polymorphisms were genotyped in patients with T2DM and age- and sex-matched T2DM-free controls from a Chinese Han population. A total of 298 patients with T2DM and 500 controls were enrolled in this study.
