species, commonly known as true morels and being cold-preferring fungi, are esteemed for their distinctive flavor as well as significant economic and prominent research value. Chongqing, located in southwestern China and renowned as the "Furnace City" due to its distinctive climate and extremely high summer temperatures, spans an area of 82,400 square kilometers with complex geographical topography, yet has lacked a comprehensive survey of true morels () so far. From 2017 to 2024, we conducted extensive field surveys across 13 districts and counties within Chongqing, resulting in the collection of over 1,000 wild morel samples.

Attributed to its high sensitivity towards molecular electron density distributions, Raman or SERS employed during chemical reactions can assist in analyzing detailed chemical conversion processes. However, multiple influencing factors impede the development of SERS substrates and in-depth data analysis.

This study investigates the role of NPAS2 in mediating neuroinflammation-induced depressive-like behaviors using NPAS2 knockout (KO) mice and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment. We confirmed that NPAS2 protein expression in the hippocampus was significantly increased in mice exposed to LPS or chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS).

Inflammation plays a crucial role in both the development and persistence of chronic pain. Neuronal PAS domain protein 2 (NPAS2), a core circadian transcriptional regulator, has been implicated in modulating pain-related stress responses.

Objectives: This cross-sectional study aims to explore the association between oral health status and cognitive function in Chinese elderly individuals.
Methods: The survey participants were composed of elderly people aged≥60 who were admitted to West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University from August 2022 to March 2024. They were divided into a cognitive impairment (CI) group and a healthy control (HC) group according to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score.
Background: Adipose extracellular matrix/stromal vascular fraction gel (ECM/SVF-gel) contains adipose-derived stem cells, extracellular matrix, and other cell components, and possesses the ability to promote collagen production and serve as a filling agent.
Aim: To assess the efficacy and safety of ECM/SVF-gel injection for the treatment of acne scars, compared to CO fractional laser (COFL).
Methods: We performed an open-label, investigator-initiated, assessor-blinded, split-face trial in Xijing Hospital, China, between July 11, 2020, and December 30, 2022.

The study investigated the effect of casticin on the proliferation of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) H322 cells and explored its molecular mechanism. Firstly, the cell counting kit-8(CCK-8) assay, colony formation assay, and EdU assay were used to detect the effect of casticin on the proliferation capacity of H322 cells under different concentrations and treatment durations. Then, glucose uptake, lactate production, extracellular pH, and oxygen consumption of H322 cells were measured before and after casticin treatment to analyze its impact on glycolysis in NSCLC H322 cells.

Blue light, as an important environmental factor, greatly affects the production of Monascus pigments (MPs) and citrinin in Monascus spp. In this study, the deletion, complementation, and overexpression mutants of MrcreD from Monascus ruber M7, which encodes an arrestin-like protein, were constructed and cultivated on PDA (Potato dextrose agar) medium to study the effects of blue light on MPs and citrinin production. The results revealed that blue light inhibited the formation of cleistothecia, conidia, and the production of MPs and citrinin in M.

Metabolic reprogramming, particularly alterations in glucose metabolism, is a key mechanism underlying tumor growth and progression, providing potential targets for novel therapeutic strategies. Casticin (CAS), a bioactive flavonoid, has shown anticancer effects in various cancers, but its specific role in NSCLC metabolism remains unclear.

With the increase in age, the oral function of older adults shows an age-related decline, which limits the types, quantity, and quality of their diet. Limited dietary intake can lead to a lack of basic nutrients needed for maintaining oral health, induce a series of oral diseases, and further aggravate the deterioration of oral functions. Oral frailty is the accumulation of mild oral function decline and is an emerging concept in the field of oral health.

Objective: To investigate the occurrence and influencing factors of oral frailty in elderly residents of elderly care facilities and to provide a basis for the development of effective intervention programs for oral frailty in this population.
Methods: A combination of subjective and objective measurements of oral frailty, a general information questionnaire, a leisure activity questionnaire, the Dietary Variety Score (DVS), the Short Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (SNAQ), the Short-Form Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA-SF), Barthel Index (BI), the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), 15-Item Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15), and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-2 (GAD-2) were used to survey 348 elderly residents in three elderly care facilities in Chengdu and to analyze the factors related to oral frailty.
Results: The prevalence of oral frailty in elderly residents of elderly care facilities was 31.

Effective and precise mammalian transcriptome engineering technologies are needed to accelerate biological discovery and RNA therapeutics. Despite the promise of programmable CRISPR-Cas13 ribonucleases, their utility has been hampered by an incomplete understanding of guide RNA design rules and cellular toxicity resulting from off-target or collateral RNA cleavage. Here, we quantified the performance of over 127,000 RfxCas13d (CasRx) guide RNAs and systematically evaluated seven machine learning models to build a guide efficiency prediction algorithm orthogonally validated across multiple human cell types.

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria are current threats to available antibiotic therapies, and this has renewed interest in the therapeutic use of phage as an alternative. However, development of phage resistance has led to unsuccessful therapeutic outcomes. In the current study, we applied phage training to minimize bacterial phage resistance and to improve treatment outcome by adapting the phage to their target hosts during co-evolution.
