Macrophages, as the primary immune cell population in atherosclerosis (AS), exhibit complex pathogenic mechanisms that are not fully elucidated. This study aims to explore the interplay between histone lactylation and methyltransferase-like protein 3 (METTL3)-mediated m6A modification and their potential mechanisms in AS. We demonstrate that METTL3 is highly expressed in macrophages in both in vivo and in vitro models of atherosclerosis, and myeloid cell-specific deletion of METTL3 attenuates the progression of atherosclerosis.

Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) represents a highly aggressive subtype of breast cancer with an unfavorable prognosis, characterized by minimal immune infiltration and pronounced immune suppression, resulting in a limited response to immunotherapy. In this study, a multifunctional Arsenene-Vanadene nanodot (AsV) drug delivery system is introduced, which responds to the tumor microenvironment by releasing arsenic and vanadium. Arsenic undergoes oxidation to generate highly toxic trivalent arsenic, which induces apoptosis in tumor cells while utilizing apoptotic cell debris to transiently activate the immune system.

Arsenic trioxide (AsO) has long been utilized in traditional Chinese medicine due to its therapeutic properties. While it exhibits potent anticancer activity, its clinical application is hindered by systemic toxicity and limited tissue specificity. In this study, an advanced therapeutic approach is developed using arsenic prodrug-loaded bimetallic sulfide MnZnS nanorods (As-MnZnS NRs) to enhance both the efficacy and safety of AsO in hepatocellular carcinoma treatment.

Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Angio-Seal and StarClose vascular closure devices (VCDs) in achieving hemostasis after interventional surgery.

Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies comparing Angio-Seal and StarClose were identified through systematic searches. Data on vascular closure success rate, complication rates, hematoma formation, pseudoaneurysm, arterial occlusion, and surgical intervention were extracted and pooled using a random effects model.

Background: Ischemic stroke is a common cerebrovascular disease characterized by high incidence, disability, mortality, and recurrence. The limitations of current pharmacological treatments, which have primarily single neuroprotective action and a narrow therapeutic time window, lead to unsatisfactory therapeutic efficacy. Activation of autophagy can facilitate neural regeneration.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of cilostazol prescription in patients with femoropopliteal peripheral artery disease (PAD) after endovascular therapy (EVT).

Materials And Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of all studies reporting the outcomes of cilostazol after femoropopliteal EVT of PAD up to September 2022. Clinical outcomes of interest included primary patency, in-stent restenosis (ISR), vessel re-occlusion, freedom from target lesion revascularization (TLR), repeat revascularization, all-cause mortality, amputation, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) and major adverse limb events (MALEs), and bleeding complication.

Background: Prenatal bisphenol exposure has been reported to be associated with lower birth weight and obesity-related indicators in early childhood. These findings warrant an investigation of the relationship between prenatal bisphenol exposure and the dynamic growth of offspring. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship of maternal bisphenol concentration in urine with the body mass index (BMI) growth trajectory of children aged up to two years and to identify the critical exposure periods.

To urge nations worldwide to implement robust measures for enhancing human development and mitigating the pressures exerted on the planet by human activities in pursuit of sustainable development, this study encompasses 154 countries globally, using the seven major regions as focal points. Leveraging the Planetary Pressure Adjusted Human Development Index (PHDI) proposed by the United Nations Development Programme on December 15, 2020, as a metric for human development levels, this paper aims to standardize and internationally compare human development data from 1990 to 2021. Subsequently, employing the Theil index, the study assesses the global human development status across the seven regions to analyze spatial disparities in PHDI.

Carbon emission trading has been actively applied in many countries, and its operational effect has received widespread attention. However, previous studies mostly focused on single environmental effect, and the investigation of the comprehensive environmental effect needs to be further supplemented. Based on this, this paper explores the comprehensive environmental effect of carbon emission trading with eco-efficiency as the starting point.

Purpose: Atherosclerosis (AS) is a primary cause of cardiovascular diseases. This study investigated the mechanism of methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) in AS plaques via modulating the phenotypic transformation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs).

Methods: AS mouse models and MOVAS cell models were established through high-fat diet and the treatment of ox-LDL, respectively.

Differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into osteoblasts is a critical process for proper skeletal development and acquisition/maintenance of bone mass. However, since this regulatory mechanism has not yet been fully elucidated, the treatment of severe osteoporosis and fractures is a challenge. Here, through a comprehensive analysis of gene expression during the differentiation of MSCs into osteoblasts, we show that the forkhead transcription factor Foxf2 is a crucial regulator of this process.

Given the context of the global energy shortage and the deterioration of the ecological environment, this paper uses industrial linkage as a starting point to deeply explore the energy consumption of different sectors and its transfer characteristics. First, a dual evaluation of energy consumption in various sectors is conducted from the perspectives of production and demand to realize an integrated analysis from the energy consumption perspective. Second, based on industrial linkage, the economic input-output life cycle assessment (EIO-LCA) model is used to quantify the net transfer of energy consumption and identify the transfer of energy consumption pressure embodied in economic activities by various sectors.

Objective: To detect the CDH1 gene methylation of suspension cells in intraoperative abdominal lavage fluid from colorectal cancer patients, and to examine its association with clinicopathology and prognosis.

Methods: Real-time methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (qMSP) was used to investigate the methylation status of the CDH1 gene promoter 5'-CpG islands from intraoperative abdominal lavage fluid in 102 patients with colorectal cancer. The associations between methylation of CDH1 genes and clinicopathologic features and prognosis were investigated.

To investigate nuclear donor and cytoplast recipient mitochondria fate and their effects on generation of interspecies somatic cell nuclear transfer (iSCNT)-derived human embryonic stem (ES)-like cells, iSCNT embryos were reconstructed between enucleated goat oocytes and human neural stem cells (hNSCs). A total of 10.74% cleaved embryos (13/121) developed to blastocyst stage.
