Macrophage infiltration was closely associated with inflammatory injury of podocytes in diabetic nephropathy (DN), while how macrophages affected podocytes remained not entirely clear. Here, we not only investigated the relationship between macrophages and high glucose (HG)-treated podocytes, but the underlying mechanisms were also explored. Transmission electron microscopy, nanoparticle tracking analysis, and western blot of CD9, CD63, CD81, and Calnexin were performed to identify exosomes; QRT-PCR was performed to detect AFAP1-AS1 expression; Western blot was performed to examine NLRP3, Cleaved caspase-1, and GSDMD-N protein levels; Immunofluorescence was performed to assess co-localisation of NLRP3 and ASC; ELISA was performed to detect IL-18 and IL-1β levels; Cytotoxicity LDH Assay Kit was performed to detect LDH level; RNA pulldown was performed to determine the interaction of AFAP1-AS1 and EZH2; ChIP was employed to determine the interaction of EZH2 and H3K27me3 in the NLRP3 promoter region.

Cathode reconstruction is equally crucial for water electrolysis, yet it has received less attention than anode. Lattice selenium (Se) doping is an effective strategy to improve hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) of metal-based electrocatalysts in cathodes, but many fundamental questions concerning the actual role of Se on the active species as well as catalytic kinetics remain to be clarified, especially in those electrocatalytic self-reconstruction systems. Here, we showcase the accelerated two-stage structural evolution of Se-doped cobalt phosphide (Se-CoP) during alkaline HER by operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction, combined with high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) analysis.

Astragaloside IV (AS-IV) is a bioactive compound derived from Radix Astragali, a traditional Chinese herb widely used as a dietary supplement to enhance immune function. Modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that AS-IV exhibits anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. In this study, we investigated the effects of AS-IV on motor dysfunction, microglial polarization, and immune regulation mechanisms in a 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced Parkinson's disease (PD) mouse model.

Thus, aside from the conventional construction of bifunctional active sites to accelerate the water dissociation step, the electronic retrimming of each metal site is also non-negligible. Herein, an efficient HER electrocatalyst combining Pt single-atoms and Pt nanoparticles on the etched boron nitride (eBN) coated carbon nanotube (Pt-eBN@CNT) is synthesized, where both the Volmer and Heyrovsky steps are promoted by the synergistic adsorption of the composite active sites and the electron-withdrawing effect of eBN carrier, respectively.

Herein, we propose an all-organic electrocatalyst, MEC-2, that conforms to the infrequent oxide path mechanism in alkaline oxygen evolution reaction through post-oxidation modification. MEC-2 achieves an intrinsic overpotential of 257.

Ceramic dielectric capacitors have gained significant attention due to their ultrahigh power density, current density, and ultrafast charge-discharge speed. However, their potential applications have been limited by their relatively low energy storage density. Researchers have employed various approaches to enhance their energy storage density.

Under the conditions of a urea/DHA-EE ratio of 3, a water/DHA-EE ratio of 0.75, a mixing temperature of 65℃, and a cooling temperature of 20℃, a concentrate containing over 90% DHA was achieved.

Methods: Bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) was used to evaluate the potential causal relationships between blood and urine biomarkers and lung cancer.
Background: Electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB) can help to accurately locate pulmonary nodules using a minimally invasive approach. This study sought to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of dye marking localization under the guidance of ENB followed by surgery.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed of 61 patients who underwent ENB localization using methylene blue dye marking before surgery at Shanghai General Hospital from October 2021 to February 2022.
Following the publication of the above article, a concerned reader drew to the Editor's attention that certain of the cell invasion assay data featured in Figs. 2G and H, 5M and N, and 9K and L, and the tumor images shown in Fig. 6B, were strikingly similar to data appearing in different form in other articles written by different authors at different research institutes that had either already been published elsewhere prior to the submission of this paper to , or were under consideration for publication at around the same time (some of which have been retracted).

Background: Previous reports on the treatment of sacral and ischial pressure injuries have not provided clear algorithms for surgical therapies. The objective of this study was to establish a reconstruction algorithm to guide the selection of an ideal free-style perforator flap that can be tailored to the defect in question.
Methods: We used 23 perforator flaps to reconstruct 14 sacral and 8 ischial defects in 22 patients over 5 years.

The rational design of earth-abundant and efficient electrocatalysts to replace precious metal-based materials is highly anticipated for overall water splitting. Herein, NiCoO electrocatalysts with different Fe doping amounts (Fe-NCO, = 1, 2, 3) were synthesized by a low-temperature chemical method. It was interesting to find that the doping of Fe induced the formation of NiCoO nanotube arrays by modulating the Fe content.

Expression and prognosis value of APOBEC2 in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) remains unclear.
Methods: The APOBEC2 gene alteration frequency of STAD and APOBEC2 gene expression in STAD and normal tissues were investigated in cBioportal and GEPIA, respectively.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) has been widely used as a minimally invasive biomarker in clinical routine. However, a number of factors such as panel design, sample quality, patients' disease stages are known to influence ctDNA detection sensitivity. In this study, we systematically evaluated common factors associated with the variability of ctDNA detection in plasma and investigated ctDNA abundance in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL).

Herein, we show that PRMT1 plays a critical role in RNA alternative splicing, with a preference for exon inclusion. PRMT1 methylome profiling identifies that PRMT1 methylates the splicing factor SRSF1, which is critical for SRSF1 phosphorylation, SRSF1 binding with RNA, and exon inclusion.
