High-performance identification of insulating materials by using generalized spectrum in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy.

The high-performance identification of insulating materials is crucial for reducing resource waste, minimizing pollution, and promoting resource recycling. To achieve this, a novel method based on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), named the generalized spectrum method (GSM-LIBS), was proposed in this study. Compared to traditional dimensionality reduction methods such as PCA, GSM-LIBS outperforms by integrating multiple spectral features, preserving both global and local information that may be lost in PCA-based methods.

Self-perceived burden, fear of progression and psychological flexibility in cervical cancer survivors: A moderated network analysis.

Objective: Self-perceived burden (SPB) and Fear of progression (FoP) have been reported in people living with cancer and together may increase overall distress. Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT) posits that psychological flexibility (PF) may ameliorate the effects of the co-occurrence of these symptoms, yet empirical evidence is scarce. We examined the symptoms associated with SPB and FoP in women with cervical cancer and tested whether PF moderates the association.

Fear of cancer recurrence and perceived pain in patients with breast cancer: A network analysis approach.

Objective: This study aimed to identify core symptom nodes and examine directional relationships within the networks of fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) and pain catastrophizing (PC), and to investigate high-impact targets for intervention.

Methods: From September to November 2024, a total of 346 eligible patients with breast cancer were enrolled from a multi-center trial named as Be Resilient to Breast Cancer (BRBC). The Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory and the Pain Catastrophizing Scale was used to collect data.

Rice bakanae disease is a soil-borne disease mainly caused by Fusarium fujikuroi, which seriously damages the yield and quality of rice. Phenamacril targets Myosin-5, thereby inhibiting its ATPase activity to exert an antifungal effect, demonstrating significant bioactivity against Fusarium species. However, the resistance of Fusarium fujikuroi field populations to phenamacril in Jiangsu Province in recent years remains unclear.

A new point mutation (E198T) in β-tubulin confers resistance to carbendazim in Fusarium incarnatum.

Carbendazim is commonly used to control maize stalk rot caused by Fusarium species, and its resistance mainly arises from point mutations in the amino acids of β-tubulin. In this study, we identified two field isolates of Fusarium incarnatum resistant to carbendazim. One moderately resistant isolate, HA16R (100 μg/mL > MIC>50 μg/mL) carried a β-tubulin F167Y point mutation, while the other highly resistant isolate, HA18R (MIC >100 μg/mL) harbored a novel β-tubulin substitution at position 198-E198T.

Conventional gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) struggle with lithium dendrite growth and long-term cycling stability due to low ionic conductivity. A nanoconfined polymerization (NCP) strategy was employed to develop a composite GPE (PDA@CityU-43) comprising porous COF and linear polymers. The crosslinked polymer chains are confined within the nanopores of CityU-43 along c-direction, improving polymer distribution and filler-polymer compatibility.

Relationships among sleep quality, anxiety, and depression among Chinese nurses: A network analysis.

Background: This study aimed to elucidate the symptom-symptom interactions of sleep quality, depression, and anxiety in Chinese nurses and to compare a multimorbidity group, a comorbidity group, and a healthy group via a network model.

Method: A total of 7113 Chinese nurses were recruited from sixty hospitals in January 2024, and their sleep quality, anxiety symptoms and depressive symptoms were measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), and the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), respectively. Central symptoms and bridge symptoms were identified on the basis of centrality indices and bridge centrality indices, respectively.

Latent profile analysis was used to identify profiles and computer-simulated network analysis was conducted to determine if self-perceived burden networked to any of the psychological flexibility profiles.

The relationship between fear of cancer recurrence and death anxiety among Chinese cancer patients: the serial mediation model.

A total of 436 cancer patients completed the Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory, the Meaning in Life Questionnaire, the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II, and the Templer's death anxiety scale.

Background: Death anxiety is thought to cause a range of mental disorders among cancer patients, which may affect their mental health and even quality of life. This study sought to investigate experiential avoidance, meaning in life, and death anxiety among Chinese cancer patients and then explore the relationship between these 3 variables.

Methods: A total of 300 cancer patients recruited from a tertiary cancer hospital participated in this study from October to December 2021.
