Background: Most patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) have working memory (WM) impairment, which can be improved by virtual reality-based working memory (VR-WM) training; however, the specific neural mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to clarify how VR-WM training improves WM in patients with MDD and further explore the role of the frontotemporal lobe in related neural mechanisms.
Methods: A total of 57 patients with MDD were included in a randomized controlled study to clarify the effects of 20 sessions of VR-WM training on WM in patients with MDD and to explore the role of the frontotemporal lobe in associated neural mechanisms.
Background: Previous studies indicated that the notion that 20-40 % of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) have cognitive impairments (CI). The mechanism of cognitive deficits in MDD is largely unknown. Recent evidence suggests that metabolic changes may be associated with poorer cognitive outcomes in MDD.

Gold (Au) concentrations accumulated from electronic waste (e-waste) and industrial leachates far surpass those found in natural ores, a highly valuable resource if efficient recovery methods can be developed. Despite advancements in covalent organic frameworks (COFs), achieving adsorbents with high selectivity, large capacity, and rapid adsorption kinetics remain challenging because of limitations in partial pore wall sites. Here, we present hexaazatriphenylene-based COFs (HATP-COFs) with an electronegative skeleton, specifically designed for selective Au recovery.

Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) exhibit a range of exceptional attributes, including notable porosity, outstanding stability, and a precisely tuned π-conjugated network, rendering them highly promising candidates for fluorescence sensors applications. In this study, the synthesis of two emissive hydrazone-linked COFs designed for hydrazine detection is presented. The partially conjugated structure of the hydrazone linkage effectively weakens the fluorescence quenching processes induced by aggregation.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) represent a new type of crystalline porous polymers that possess pre-designed skeletons, uniform nanopores, and ordered π structure. These attributes make them well-suited for the design of light-emitting materials. However, the majority of COFs exhibits poor luminescence due to aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ), resulting from the strong interaction between adjacent layers.

Background And Objectives: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease and brings heavy economic and spiritual burdens to patients' families and the society. Airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs) afect the development of asthma by secreting cytokines, growth factors, and prostates. The stress-inducing protein, Sestrin2, plays a vital role in antioxidant defense.
