Introduction: Hereditary forms of diabetes, including Maturity-Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY) and Neonatal Diabetes Mellitus (NDM), are rare monogenic disorders caused by mutations in genes involved in pancreatic development, beta-cell function, and insulin secretion. Unlike the polygenic nature of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, these forms provide a unique model for precision medicine.

Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to explore the molecular genetics, clinical features, diagnostic advancements, and therapeutic strategies related to MODY and NDM.

Cancer epidemiology and care services in low- and middle-income countries, has traditionally overlooked the specific needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual community, including people who identify with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations (LGBTQIA+). This narrative review examines the intersection of LGBTQIA+ individual's health and oncology cases in Nepal, highlighting disparities in cancer risk factors, delayed diagnosis, limited screening access and the compounding effects of social stigma and discrimination. Drawing from regional data and global insights, we identify systemic barriersincluding heteronormative healthcare environments, lack of provider training in LGBTQIA+-inclusive oncology, and policy gaps that hinder equitable cancer care access.

Exploring the Interplay Between Kidney Dysfunction and Cardiovascular Disease.

This article reveals the various types of complications that are associated with dialysis and kidney-associated disease, including left ventricular hypertrophy, heart failure, vascular heart disease, arrhythmias, diabetes mellitus, intradialytic hypertension, and coronary heart disease. The molecular mechanisms underlying the development of cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), including the role of nitric oxide (NO) signaling, have been extensively studied. MRI capacity assessment for prostate cancer screening in five sites of Europe.

Recognizing prostate cancer (PCa) as a significant public health challenge, the European Union, in 2022, recommended for organized screening programs incorporating PSA testing with MRI for risk stratification. This study assessed the MRI capacity and readiness of five pilot implementation sites in Europe within the PRostate cancer Awareness and Initiative for Screening Europe (PRAISE-U) project: Lithuania, Poland, Ireland, and two Spanish regions (Manresa and Galicia). Data included MRI types, waiting times, diagnostic quality, radiologist experience, and referral pathways.

Handshake technique for removal of fluocinolone acetonide implant from the vitreous cavity.

We describe a simple technique for removing fluocinolone acetonide (FAc) implant using 25 G instrumentation in an eye with uncontrolled glaucoma. The technique involved freeing the implant from the pars plana, lifting it from the posterior pole with 25G+Grieshaber Maxgrip forceps and transferring it to another forceps. The implant was then realigned coaxially and successfully removed through a 25G cannula without getting it dislodged.

Observational study of using lactate dehydrogenase as prognostic marker in dengue patients.

Background: Dengue is one of the common mosquito borne illnesses in south India and it is nearly endemic in these coastal states. Competitive ion exchange with aquifer sediments has been hypothesized to cause their co-mobilization. However, this hypothesis has been postulated merely based on correlations of F and U with other groundwater parameters without characterizing that F and U were present as exchangeable in the aquifer sediments.

First described in year 1952, it is a diagnosis of exclusion and is extremely rare entity Here we present a case report of syndrome in a female patient who presented with 03 weeks of progressive unilateral retro orbital headache followed by acute onset ptosis and complete ophthalmoplegia in right eye. On evaluation (brain imaging) and after ruling out all the other differentials, she was diagnosed as a case of THS.

Initial experience with brolucizumab for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) in India - Multicentric, real-world study.

Purpose: To evaluate the anatomic and visual outcomes and safety profile of initial Indian eyes with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) treated with intravitreal injection (IVI) of brolucizumab.

Methods: This retrospective multicentric, real-world study enrolled consecutive eyes with nAMD that were treated with IVI brolucizumab after it was launched in India in October 2020. Data collected for each eye included best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central subfield thickness (CSFT), subretinal fluid (SRF), and intraretinal fluid (IRF) status at 6, 12, and 24 months follow-up.

Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome Following Blood Transfusion in a Patient With Chronic Anemia: A Case Report.

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is a rare neurological disorder characterized by transient constriction and dilation of cerebral arteries, leading to severe headaches and neurological deficits. This case report describes a 41-year-old woman with chronic anemia, acute chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and rheumatoid arthritis who developed RCVS following transfusion of packed red blood cells (PRBCs). She experienced sudden-onset seizures and a thunderclap headache 5 days post-transfusion.
