Objective: This study investigated the effects of circadian misalignment (CM), induced by delaying mealtimes, independent of sleep timing and duration and eating window duration, on energy expenditure (EE), respiratory quotient (RQ), and substrate oxidation.
Methods: Healthy adults, aged 20 to 49 years, participated in this randomized crossover study under controlled feeding conditions. Eating window duration was identical in both conditions (circadian alignment [CA]: 9:00 am-7:00 pm; CM: 1:00 pm-11:00 pm), and bedtimes were constant (11:30 pm-8:00 am).
The quality of residents' lives have been negatively affected by problems resulting from global warming and urban heat island. Investigators have explored several ways to mitigate those problems. They found that vegetation (especially trees) and water surfaces played a significant role in the adjustments of climate.

Outdoor thermal comfort is significantly relevant to human's quality of life. Thus, it has been frequently studied by investigators. This study explored people's thermal responses to environments and the subjective factors that might affect thermal comforts with respect to two urban parks in Xindu, a satellite city in the Chengdu Plain (CDP).

It is unclear practice whether the peripheral immune signature (pIS) reflects the TIME as a feasible prognostic indicator for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) patients. Here, we enrolled 599 HNSCC patients from three domestic institutes to explore the relationship between the pIS and survival.

The manipulation of charge-to-spin current conversion and spin-orbit torque (SOT) is of great interest due to its profound physics and potential applications. Controlling the spin current through the electric field provides a perspective for highly efficient SOT devices. Here, we use HO-doped ionic liquid gating to realize the reversible and nonvolatile manipulation of the spin Hall effect of Pt, and the spin Hall angle can be modulated by 48% within an accessible gate voltage range.

Numerous tissue regeneration paradigms show evident neurological dependence, including mammalian fingertip, skin, and bone regeneration. The mature skeleton is innervated by an abundant nervous system that infiltrates the developing axial and appendicular bones and maintains the stability of the systemic skeletal system by controlling blood flow, regulating bone metabolism, secreting neurotransmitters, and regulating stem cell behavior. In recent years, neurotization in tissue-engineered bone has been considered as a promising strategy to effectively overcome the challenge of vascularization and innervation regeneration in the central zone of "critical-sized bone defects" that conventional tissue-engineered scaffolds are unable to handle, however, further validation is needed in relevant clinical applications.

Cancer cells thrive in a changing microenvironment by reprogramming lipidomic metabolic processes to provide nutrients and energy, activate oncogenic signaling pathways, and manage redox homeostasis to avoid lipotoxicity. The mechanism by which OSCC cells maintain lipid homeostasis during malignant progression is unclear.

Chirality is a unique feature of Weyl cones and can support helicity-dependent photocurrent generation, known as circular photogalvanic effect. Here, we report circular photogalvanic effect with opposite signs at two different mid-infrared wavelengths which provides evidence of Weyl-related optical responses.

With the high efficiency and low cost, virtual screening technology is becoming an indispensable part of drug development. In this study, a novel multi-stage virtual screening method based on machine learning, molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation was developed to identify p38α MAPK inhibitors from natural products in ZINC database, which improves the prediction accuracy by considering and utilizing both ligand and receptor information compared to any individual approach.

In particular, in the vicinity of correlation-driven quantum phase transitions (QPTs), quantum critical fluctuations of multiple degrees of freedom facilitate exotic many-body states and quantum critical behaviours beyond Landau's framework. Recently, moiré heterostructures of van der Waals materials have been demonstrated as highly tunable quantum platforms for exploring fascinating, strongly correlated quantum physics.

Recently, magic-angle twisted trilayer graphene (MATTG) has shown both robust superconductivity similar to magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene and other unique properties, including the Pauli-limit violating and re-entrant superconductivity. These rich properties are deeply rooted in its electronic structure under the influence of distinct moiré potential and mirror symmetry.
