Objective: To develop and validate a clinical prediction model for assessing the severity of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) using blood biomarkers, aiming to support clinical decision-making and treatment guidance.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted at Beijing Shijitan Hospital on January 5, 2023, including SARS-CoV-2 positive patients with initial chest CT-detected from outpatient and emergency departments. Data on demographics, symptoms, and blood biomarkers were collected.
Objective: Measles is a highly contagious, potentially fatal disease, and using western medicine for treating this disease showed some limits including the long period of treatment and some side effects. Of note, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) exhibited advantages of treating measles in using alone or combing with western medication. However, little information on the clinical study on adjunctive efficacy of TCM on measles.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: In this study we aimed to evaluate the postoperative safety of cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for the treatment of peritoneal surface malignancies (PSM), and analyzed the risk factors and pathogen resistance associated with bloodstream infections.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the incidence of postoperative bloodstream infections in 1500 patients undergoing CRS and HIPEC for PSM. We utilized univariate and multivariate analyses to screen for independent risk factors associated with postoperative bloodstream infections in CRS combined with HIPEC.
Objective: This study was performed to evaluate the effect of care bundles on the prevention of central venous catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI) and improvement of patients' experience.
Methods: In total, 212 patients with central venous catheter insertions were enrolled in this study. All patients were matched by sex, age, Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II score, body mass index, department, and catheter insertion site and were randomly divided into case and control groups (n = 106 each).
Objectives: To study the pathogenic bacterial profile and drug resistance in older patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in outpatients with fever, and provide evidence to diagnose and treat CAP timely and accurately.
Methods: We studied older (>60 years) patients with CAP in Beijing Shijitan Hospital from 2016 to 2017. Pathogenic bacteria from sputum of patients were isolated and identified and their resistance to antibiotics was tested.
Objective: To explore clinical efficacy of Yiguanjian Decoction (YD) combined Adefovir Dipivoxil Tablet (ADT) in treating HBeAg negative chronic viral hepatitis B (CVHB) active compensated liver cirrhosis (LC) patients.
Methods: Totally 68 HBeAg negative CVHB active compensated LC patients initially treated were assigned to the treatment group and the control group using random digit table, 34 in each group. Patients in the control group took ADT alone, 10 mg each time, once per day.
Adiponectin is a protein hormone that modulates glucose metabolism and fatty acid oxidation. We explored the clinical implication of serum adiponectin in hepatogenic diabetes. Serum adiponectin levels were determined using enzyme-linked immunochemistry assay in 78 individuals including 19 hepatogenic diabetes, 20 type 2 diabetes (T2D), 20 chronic liver disease and 19 healthy controls.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the incidence, etiology and clinical characteristics of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) among outpatients with sore throat and/or cough, and thus to provide theoretical basis for timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment for CAP. We used chest X-rays for fever (a temperature greater than 37.5°C) patients, who were recruited since 2007, presenting with sore throat and/or cough.

Objective: To compare the serological characters of an outbreak of hepatitis E and evaluate sensitivity and specificity of anti-HEV E2-IgM.
Methods: The sera collected from the employees of an outbreak unit were detected for anti-HEV E2-IgM and IgG, and the serum samples from a neighboring department were used as control. The results detected with anti-HEV E2-IgM, IgG and Genelab anti-HEV IgM, IgG in some samples were compared.
