The Coyolxauhqui Imperative offers a decolonial framework for reimagining trauma and healing in psychiatric practice by drawing on the Aztec myth of Coyolxauhqui's dismemberment and celestial transformation. Challenging Western biomedical assumptions of linear recovery and pathologization of fragmentation, this paradigm centers cultural epistemologies of nepantla (liminal space), conocimiento (embodied truth-telling), and mythic temporality (cyclical reintegration). Through critical analysis of Nahuatl cosmology, Gloria Anzaldúa's theoretical expansion, and contemporary ritual practices, the model reconceives psychological crises as sacred processes of disintegration and reassembly.

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MCPHS University, School of Pharmacy, Boston, MA, USA. Electronic address:

Wilson's Disease (WD) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutations in the ATP7B gene. These mutations lead to defective copper (Cu) transport and to accumulation of Cu in tissues, primarily in the liver and brain. Current treatment options such as D-penicillamine, trientine, and zinc salts focus on increasing Cu excretion or reducing Cu absorption, but often cause debilitating side effects.

The Pediatric Pharmacy Association (PPA) strongly urges health care institutions to establish and support the pharmacist's role in pediatric emergency department (ED) settings. Adult patient-centric guidelines have firmly established the general role of the pharmacist and pharmacy services in emergency medicine; however, pediatric pharmacy presence is often considered in case-based scenarios, such as pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation events. PPA recommends supporting the pharmacist's role in all pediatric ED settings and scenarios including, but not limited to, participation in direct patient care activities, education, safety, improvement initiatives, and transitions of care.

Modular self-emulsifying drug delivery platform to enhance cellular uptake activity in triple-negative breast cancer.

Eur J Pharm Sci

March 2025

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University) Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, 19 Foster St., Worcester, MA 01608, USA. Electronic address:

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) presents with resistance phenotypes to certain therapies, such as cisplatin, often requiring higher dosing, with associated acquired tumor resistance, renal toxicity, and variable patient responses. A self-emulsifying drug delivery (SEDD) formulation approach was proposed to overcome the limitations of cisplatin in TNBC, focusing on improving intracellular cisplatin and control siRNA uptake as a proof-of-principle of dual drug delivery. Four SEDD formulations were prepared and optimized for cisplatin (o/w) emulsion and FITC-siRNA (w/o) emulsion using pseudo-ternary phase diagrams to facilitate the formation of water-in-oil-water (w/o/w) emulsions.
