Background: Comprehensive history-taking is crucial for patient assessment, prioritisation of care, and planning of care. While direct instruction methods effectively explain history-taking processes and components, they provide insufficient opportunities for practice, necessitating the implementation of supplementary teaching strategies.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of AI chatbot-supported history-taking training on nursing students' questioning skills and clinical stress levels.

This study aimed to develop an AI-based diagnostic model for Hirschsprung's disease (HD) using deep learning on contrast enema (CE) images, with the goal of improving diagnostic accuracy while reducing invasiveness. The dataset included 725 CE images from histopathologically confirmed HD patients from 2013 to 2022. Employing Python and PyTorch, a deep learning model based on the YOLOv8 algorithm was trained and validated, emphasizing key metrics like mean average precision (mAP), precision, recall, and F1 score.

Aims: Nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery systems are being investigated for the controlled release of drugs to treat neurodegenerative diseases (ND). We aimed to investigate the effects of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles (PLGA-NPs) containing different growth factors (GFs) on rat brain-derived neural stem cells (NSCs) in vitro differentiation, providing insights that may contribute to future approaches for treating Parkinson's disease.
Methods: Three different PLGA-NPs loaded with Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), Glial-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (GDNF), and Transforming Growth Factor beta 3 (TGF-β3) were developed and characterized in terms of size, zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, and release profile.

Background: Metastatic gastric cancer (GC) and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer are associated with a poor prognosis. Recent advancements in treatment have incorporated trastuzumab, anti-PD-1 agents, and anti-claudin therapies alongside chemotherapy (ChT), significantly improving outcomes. Contemporary studies predominantly employ doublet ChT as the backbone for these regimens, although historically triplet ChT regimens have been favored, particularly in younger patients requiring rapid tumor shrinkage.

This multicentre retrospective study investigated the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, and fluconazole resistance rates of Candida species in osteoarticular infections across Turkey as well as the factors influencing complete recovery. Data were gathered from 73 adult patients diagnosed with proven or probable Candida-associated osteoarticular infections between 2015 and 2025 from 20 healthcare centres. The most common clinical presentation was spondylodiscitis, followed by the involvement of phalangeal bones in the hands and feet.

The present review focuses on the bismuth-based heterojunction photocatalysts for the degradation of tetracycline (TC) antibiotic. The frequent usage of antibiotics causes several environmental and health concerns due to their widespread occurrence and persistence in aquatic ecosystems. In this context, bismuth-based photocatalysts have extended noteworthy interest for their tunable structures, visible-light activity, suitable band gap energies, and unique physicochemical properties.

The mechanical behavior of prosthetic liners significantly influences stress distribution, soft tissue protection, and the overall efficiency of the prosthetic. While extensive research has been conducted on liner materials, the impact of liner thickness (2 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm) on biomechanical response remains underexplored. This study utilizes finite element analysis in Abaqus to investigate how liner material (Gel vs.

Objectives: Therapeutic play intervention is an effective strategy that can promote cognitive development, reduce anxiety and stress, and increase confidence, enabling children to explore their problems, find solutions, and regulate their emotions. The current study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the therapeutic play-based intervention program (TOTEM), which was developed to reduce the adverse psychosocial effects of earthquakes in preschool children.
Methods: This study was conducted as a randomised, single-blinded, two-arm trial with a pre-test and post-test control.

Drilling-induced damage in fiber-reinforced polymer composite materials was measured excavating four laminates, basalt (B), glass (G) and their two sandwich type hybrids (BGB, GBG), with 6 mm twist drills at 1520 revolutions per minute and 0.10 mm rev under dry running with an uncoated high-speed steel (HSS-R), grind-coated high-speed steel (HSS-G) or physical vapor deposition-coated (high-speed steel coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN) and Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN)) drill bits. The hybrid sheets were deliberately incorporated to clarify how alternating basalt-glass architectures redistribute interlaminar stresses during drilling, while the hard, low-friction TiN and TiAlN ceramic coatings enhance cutting performance by forming a heat-resistant tribological barrier that lowers tool-workpiece adhesion, reduces interface temperature, and thereby suppresses thrust-induced delamination.

: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SN), pathological accumulation of alpha-synuclein, and chronic neuroinflammation. The aim of this study is to evaluate the serum levels of systemic inflammatory markers such as neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), neutrophil-HDL ratio (NHR), monocyte-HDL ratio (MHR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), IL-6, IGF-1, systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) in patients with PD, and to analyze the relationship between these markers and the clinical stage of the disease as well as its motor and non-motor symptoms. : Fifty-one patients diagnosed with PD and forty-nine HC matched for age and sex were evaluated prospectively.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline and cholinergic dysfunction. Given the limitations of current acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) inhibitors, novel multi-target drug candidates are urgently needed. In this study, a series of DHEA-carbamate derivatives were rationally designed and synthesized to integrate cholinesterase inhibition with potential neuroprotective and pharmacokinetic advantages.

A member of the coumarin family, umbelliferone is a naturally abundant compound known for its diverse pharmacological and therapeutic properties. Therefore, to gain insight into its molecular recognition mechanism, we plan to conduct an in-depth investigation of its interactions with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase enzyme (SOD1) through a combination of spectroscopic techniques and computational modeling. Results from competitive displacement experiments with EB and Hoechst 33,258, supported by molecular docking analyses, indicate that the umbelliferone preferentially binds to the minor groove of CT-DNA.

This study suggested a way to produce valuable hydrogen from organic cabin waste collected at Antalya Airport, and it included energy and cost analyses of hydrogen production based on this method. In the proposed model, cabin waste is converted into biogas using anaerobic digestion technology, and hydrogen is produced from the biogas employing steam biogas reforming technology. Based on calculations, approximately 4126 m/day of biogas can be produced from 148 tonnes/day of organic cabin waste.
