Behçet disease (BD) is a chronic, relapsing inflammatory disorder, and human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B*51 is considered to be the strongest genetic susceptibility factor. The integrated stress response (ISR), defined by the eIF2α/ATF4 axis, is a signaling network that maintains protein homeostasis and regulates innate immunity in eukaryotic cells; pathological activation of this pathway can affect the immune response and cause various diseases. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of the ISR signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of BD.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the pathological aggregation of amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptides, particularly Aβ-42, which plays a central role in disease progression. Soluble Aβ dimers have been implicated as the primary neurotoxic species contributing to synaptic dysfunction and cognitive impairment. In this study, we employ a comprehensive computational framework integrating molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, neural relational inference (NRI) modeling, and largest Lyapunov exponent (LLE) analysis to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying Aβ-42 dimerization and evaluate the inhibitory potential of small molecules, apigenin and caffeine.

Use of Protein Arginine Methyltransferase Inhibitors in Gliomas.

JCO Precis Oncol

August 2025

Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY.

Gliomas are a type of CNS tumors. Protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) play important epigenetic regulatory roles in various cancers, including gliomas, by regulating DNA repair and cellular signaling pathways. Recent studies have also identified overexpression of PRMTs in gliomas and have shown that it is associated with tumor progression and resistance to conventional therapies.

Introduction: Migraine is a common neurological disorder that is increasingly recognized for its systemic effects extending beyond the central nervous system. Emerging evidence suggests a potential association between migraine and cardiovascular dysfunction; however, the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms remain insufficiently elucidated. In this study we aimed to evaluate atrial electromechanical delay in patients with migraine and to test the hypothesis that migraine may be linked to subclinical cardiac alterations, particularly in atrial conduction.

Background: Trigeminal schwannomas (TSs) are uncommon, benign tumors that arise from the trigeminal nerve. They can spread to the middle cranial fossa, posterior fossa, and extracranially (pterygopalatine fossa (PPF), infratemporal fossa, orbita). Among these, extracranial involvement is the least frequent.
