Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID)-exacerbated respiratory disease (N-ERD) is a mainly type 2 inflammatory condition that combines asthma, nasal polyps, and hypersensitivity to NSAIDs. Its pathogenesis involves both upper and lower airways, yet most studies to date have examined these compartments separately. It remains unclear whether the molecular mechanisms in the nose, sinuses, and lungs are distinct or overlapping-an important gap, given that clinical manifestations of N-ERD involve both sites.

Methods: A prospective observational epigenome-wide association study (EWAS) was conducted with DNA extracted from the peripheral whole blood of subjects with aSAH.

Transportation noise: its cardiovascular effects and their reversibility; a narrative review.

Blood Press

December 2025

1st Department of Cardiology, Interventional Electrocardiology and Arterial Hypertension, Jagiellonian University Medical College, Kraków, Poland.

Background: Transportation noise seems to be inherent in modern urban living. However, many studies indicate that it can unfavorably affect human health, especially by influencing the cardiovascular outcome. The large number of people exposed to noise in the European Union becomes relevant to public health.

Background: Cumulative data has highlighted the efficacy of intra-vascular lithotripsy (IVL) in patients with stent failure (SF). However, it remains unclear whether the effectiveness of IVL, and subsequent clinical outcomes, are influenced by the timing of SF. We aimed to evaluate the outcomes of patients with SF undergoing IVL according to the age of index stent implantation.

Background: Central nervous system (CNS) tumors, including gliomas, are among the most aggressive cancers, with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) being the most common and lethal. This study explores the potential of multidrug repositioning as a modern chemotherapy strategy for GBM cell lines. It combines the standard GBM chemotherapeutic temozolomide (TMZ) with olaparib (OLA) and oxaliplatin (OXA), both repurposed from other cancer types.

The use of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in endodontic diagnostics and treatment is gaining importance due to its ability to provide three-dimensional imaging of tooth structures and their surroundings. CBCT allows a precise assessment of the anatomy of the endodontic space, which is crucial in planning and performing effective root canal treatment. Traditional two-dimensional imaging techniques often prove insufficient in diagnosing the complex morphology of dental canals, increasing the risk of leaving areas untreated and potential treatment failure.

In contemporary medical practice, a reductionist focus on physical symptoms and biotechnological interventions often sidelines the relational and emotional dimensions of patient care. This paper explores the potential benefits of integrating phenomenological approaches into everyday healthcare practice. Drawing on the seminal works of Merleau-Ponty, Gallagher, Mazis, Benner, and Svenaeus, among others, the study illustrates how a phenomenological stance - characterized by a suspension of preconceptions and an embrace of "not-knowing" - can transform clinical encounters.
