This study aimed to investigate the mechanical properties and thermal properties of epoxy composites reinforced jute and coconut fibers with varied rice husk ash (RHA) percentages for thermal insulation in building wall insulation. In this study, according to ASTM standards, the seven types of composite samples with varying filler ratios were prepared using the hand lay-up process. The four jute fiber (JF) samples were prepared with RHA at 0 % (control), 1 %, 2 %, and 3 % of total weight respectively, while the other three coconut fiber (CF) samples were prepared with CF at 0 % (control), 1 %, and 3 % RHA, respectively.

Although Direct Air Capture (DAC) of CO is a potential technology for climate change mitigation, the cost, scalability, and efficiency of existing materials and techniques are severely limited. MXenes, a type of two-dimensional materials, have drawn interest due to their remarkable conductivity, enormous surface area, and adjustable chemistry, however, their potential for DAC has not yet been thoroughly investigated. Recent developments in MXene synthesis and functionalization are comprehensively reviewed, with an emphasis on how these characteristics might be used to enhance improve CO adsorption and capture efficiency.

Despite significant research on the Bangla language in Natural Language Processing (NLP), there remains a notable resource deficit for its diverse regional dialects, such as those spoken in Chittagong, Sylhet, and Barisal. These dialects, often considered unintelligible to speakers of Standard Bengali, pose challenges due to their unique grammatical structures and phonetic variations. Some linguists categorize them as distinct languages.

Background: Drowning is the leading cause of death among children aged 0-17 years in rural Bangladesh, resulting in over 14 438 deaths annually-an average of 43 deaths per day. This study aims to identify socioeconomic, demographic and environmental factors linked to child drowning deaths in Northern Bangladesh-a region of high poverty, which is behind in overall socioeconomic indicators compared with other regions in the country.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey through purposive sampling to identify child fatal and non-fatal drownings among a total of 18 004 households, comprising 71 185 people, in 2 unions in Northern Bangladesh.

Criteria air pollutant exposure impacts human health through various pathways. Preterm birth (PTB) is one of the major adverse birth outcomes (ABO) associated with such exposure. Although numerous global and regional studies have been conducted on this issue, few have recently investigated the impact of major criteria air pollutant exposure on PTBs in Bangladesh, one of the world's most polluted countries with the highest relative PTB rate.

Rice blast, caused by Magnaporthe oryzae, is one of the most destructive fungal diseases in rice, resulting in major economic losses worldwide. Genetic and genomic studies have identified key genes and proteins, such as AvrPik variants and MAX proteins, that are crucial for the pathogen's virulence. These effector proteins interact with specific alleles of the Pik gene family on rice chromosome 11, modulating the host's immune response.

Perovskite solar cells are commonly employed in photovoltaic systems because of their special characteristics. Perovskite solar cells remain efficient, but lead-based absorbers are dangerous, restricting their manufacture. Therefore, studies in the field of perovskite materials are now focusing on investigating lead-free perovskites.

The Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) is a widely used self-report measure of subjective well-being, but studies of its measurement invariance across a large number of nations remain limited. Here, we utilised the Body Image in Nature (BINS) dataset-with data collected between 2020 and 2022 -to assess measurement invariance of the SWLS across 65 nations, 40 languages, gender identities, and age groups (N = 56,968). All participants completed the SWLS under largely uniform conditions.

Wetlands are a crucial component of the earth's socio-ecological structure, providing significant ecosystem services to people. Changes in wetlands, driven by both natural and manmade causes, are altering these ecosystem services. Although Bangladesh is developing, natural resources like wetlands are changing in the country at different scales, with urban areas experiencing significant impacts.

Nickel-NTA affinity chromatography is the current standard method for purifying His-tagged recombinant proteins. However, this process involves repetitive tasks, can be time-consuming, and reduces protein yield. Here, we present a simple, fast, and handy method for purifying His-tagged proteins using free Ni²⁺.

In infectious disease outbreak modeling, there remains a gap in addressing spatiotemporal challenges present in established models. This study addresses this gap by evaluating four established hybrid neural network models for predicting influenza outbreaks. These models were analyzed by employing time series data from eight different countries to challenge the models with imposed spatial difficulties, in a month-on-month structure.

Ethnomedicinal plants in Asia offer a promising, low-side-effect alternative to synthetic drugs for treating fungal infections, one of the most widespread communicable diseases caused by pathogenic fungi. Despite being underexplored, the region's rich plant diversity holds the potential for developing effective antifungal drugs. Research is increasingly focused on bioactive compounds from these plants, which show strong antifungal properties and may serve as leads for new drug development.

Background And Objective: Lung cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, necessitating early and accurate detection methods. Our study aims to enhance lung cancer detection by integrating VGGNet-16 form of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Support Vector Machines (SVM) into a hybrid model (SVMVGGNet-16), leveraging the strengths of both models for high accuracy and reliability in classifying lung cancer types in different 4 classes such as adenocarcinoma (ADC), large cell carcinoma (LCC), Normal, and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).
Methods: Using the LIDC-IDRI dataset, we pre-processed images with a median filter and histogram equalization, segmented lung tumors through thresholding and edge detection, and extracted geometric features such as area, perimeter, eccentricity, compactness, and circularity.

Potentially toxic elements (PTEs) and microplastics (MPs) in the atmosphere raise widespread apprehension due to their association with the ecosystem and public health. The accumulation of airborne MPs and PTEs was analyzed in leaves, and the Pollution Index (PI) was calculated along an industrial, residential, and rural gradient in Bangladesh. Only polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was found in the highest concentration in industrial areas compared to other areas.

Background: In the realm of system biology, it is a challenging endeavor to infer a gene regulatory network from time-series gene expression data. Numerous Boolean network inference techniques have emerged for reconstructing a gene regulatory network from a time-series gene expression dataset. However, most of these techniques pose scalability concerns given their capability to consider only two to three regulatory genes over a specific target gene.

The concern of potential toxic elements (PTEs) contamination in the river ecosystem is growing due to anthropological activity. The contents of seven PTEs in sediments from the Balu River channel were analyzed using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and an environmental risk model. Several PTEs were found in the sediment at high levels, including zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), arsenic (As), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), nickel (Ni), and mercury (Hg), that might pose a risk to human and ecological health.

Human papillomavirus 16 and human papillomavirus 18 have been associated with different life-threatening cancers, including cervical, lung, penal, vulval, vaginal, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers, while cervical cancer is the most prominent one. Several research studies have suggested that the oncoproteins E6 and E7 are the leading cause of cancers associated with the human papillomavirus infection. Therefore, we developed two mRNA vaccines (V1 and V2) targeting these oncoproteins.

Cryptococcosis is a lethal mycosis instigated by the pathogenic species Cryptococcus neoformans and Cryptococcus gattii, primarily affects the lungs, manifesting as pneumonia, and the brain, where it presents as meningitis. Mortality rate could reach 100% if infections remain untreated in cryptococcal meningitis. Treatment options for cryptococcosis are limited and and there are no licensed vaccines clinically available to treat or prevent cryptococcosis.
