Article Abstract

Low efficacy and frequent use of conventional pesticide formulations have led to various food safety and ecological concerns. Green and effective nanoformulation offers promising solutions to water-insoluble pesticides. Herein, we prepared a water-based nanoparticulate formulation of lambda-cyhalothrin (LC WBNF) using high-gravity rotating packed bed (RPB) combined with lyophilization. The prepared formulation could be dispersed in water with an average particle size of 54.5 ± 0.7 nm and maintained long-term stability. LC WBNF demonstrated significant improvement in foliar wettability, adhesion, and resistance to rain-induced washout. LC WBNF enhanced the uptake and translocation of LC in broad bean plants due to the presence of nanoparticles. Furthermore, the insecticidal activity of LC WBNF was 2.8 and 2.3 times higher than that of commercial LC WP and LC WDG, respectively. This study presents a novel strategy for the development of nanoinsecticides for practical application in agricultural production.

The two-step layer-by-layer (LBL) deposition of donor and acceptor films enables desired vertical phase separation and high performance in organic solar cells (OSCs), which becomes a promising technology for large-scale printing devices. However, limitations including the use of toxic solvents and unpredictable infiltration between donor and acceptor still hinder the commercial production of LBL OSCs. Herein, we developed a water-based nanoparticle (NP) ink containing donor polymer to construct a mesoscale structure that could be infiltrated with an acceptor solution.

Electrospinning as a method for preparation of redispersible dry product with high content of magnetic nanoparticles.

University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Aškerčeva cesta 7, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia. Electronic address:

One of the key technological challenges in the development of iron-oxide-based magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) is their long-term physical stability in colloidal dispersions. This can be improved by their transformation into a dry form. Here, we introduce electrospinning as a drying method for ethanol-based and water-based MNP dispersions, which enables the preparation of high-loaded dry MNP products.

Cryogels are matrices that are formed in moderately frozen solutions of monomeric or polymeric precursors. They have the advantages of interconnected macropores, structural stability, and compressibility. Meanwhile, thermally induced shape memory is an attractive feature of certain functional materials.
