Article Abstract

The spontaneous spreading (SS) process offers a unique solution-processed platform for fabricating organic photovoltaics (OPVs) under open-air conditions. Yet its development is hindered by limited strategies to achieve uniform film thickness and homogeneous phase morphology. In this work, an SS process is developed using the green solvent o-xylene and mediated by solid additives to regulate interfacial tension, enabling the formation of uniform SS-films on the water surface. The aromatic solid additive phenanthrene (PAT) extended the drying time of the wet film, effectively suppressed excessive acceptor aggregation, enhanced molecular packing order, and optimized phase-separated morphology for the SS-film. The OPV device with SS-film as the active layer achieved a champion efficiency of 16.4%. To the best of current knowledge, this is the first attempt to introduce solid additives in SS-processed OPVs, offering a versatile strategy to simultaneously adjust film-forming kinetics and phase morphology. This study presents a simple approach to fabricating solution OPVs with solution processability and reproducibility.

Zeolite synthesis from fly ash offers recycling and environmental benefits for carbon dioxide capture, but varying fly ash composition from different sources has different compositions, leading to inconsistent adsorption results. To achieve high CO adsorption performance and stability in zeolite synthesis from fly ash systems, this study established an element-controlled simulated fly ash system with Ca/Fe gradient differences. Hydrothermal synthesis yielded zeolites with optimized oxide ratios for CO adsorption.

Encapsulation of non-noble bimetallic nanoparticles within a zeolite framework can improve the stability and accessibility of active sites, but the single microporous structure and poor metal stability decreased the catalytic performance of the catalyst. Here, 3D hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolite encapsulated NiCo nanoparticles (NiCo@3DHZ5) were synthesized by Bottom-up confined steam-assisted crystallization (SAC) one-pot hydrothermal method and applied to the hydrodeoxygenation of vanillin. A series of characterizations showed that highly stable alloyed NiCo nanoparticles were encapsulated in a framework of 3DHZ5, the strong metal-zeolite interactions resulted in highly dispersed NiCo nano-alloys facilitated hydrogen adsorption and spillover of active hydrogen atoms, and the 3D hierarchical structure promoted oxygenated substrate diffusion, the synergy interaction between the alloy particles confined in the 3DHZ5 pores and the acidic sites on the zeolite surface promoted the selective conversion of vanillin.

The significant global energy consumption strongly emphasizes the crucial role of net-zero or green structures in ensuring a sustainable future. Considering this aspect, incorporating thermal insulation materials into building components is a well-accepted method that helps to enhance thermal comfort in buildings. Furthermore, integrating architectural components made from solid refuse materials retrieved from the environment can have significant environmental benefits.

Background: Previous results from this phase 3 trial showed that progression-free survival among participants with previously untreated (epidermal growth factor receptor)-mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was significantly improved with amivantamab-lazertinib as compared with osimertinib. Results of the protocol-specified final overall survival analysis in this trial have not been reported.

Methods: We randomly assigned, in a 2:2:1 ratio, participants with previously untreated -mutated (exon 19 deletion or L858R substitution), locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC to receive amivantamab-lazertinib, osimertinib, or lazertinib.

Background: Since 2013, we have performed conversion surgery after hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) for initially unresectable locally advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (LA-HCC).

Methods: Between 2013 and 2021, we assessed the surgical and oncological outcomes and pathological findings of patients with LA-HCC without extrahepatic spread (EHS) whose tumors converted from unresectable to resectable status with the New-FP regimen HAIC.

Results: We censored 153 patients with LA-HCC (Child-Pugh A, without EHS) indicated for HAIC.
