The oxygen evolution reaction (OER), a bottleneck in electrochemical water splitting, is fundamentally limited by a scaling relationship between the binding energies of key intermediates (OH* and OOH*), imposing a minimum theoretical overpotential of 0.37 eV. Breaking this scaling relationship is crucial for enhancing OER activity, yet effective strategies remain scarce. We demonstrate that the introduction of high-electronegativity fluorion on chalcogenate-adsorbed nickel-iron oxyhydroxide (NiFeOOH) significantly shortens hydrogen bonds between the chalcogenate and OER intermediates (*OH and *OOH). This shortening promotes proton transfer kinetics and lowers the theoretical overpotential to 0.27 eV. Guided by these calculations, the co-adsorption of chalcogenate and fluorion on metal oxyhydroxide (NiFeSF-R) catalyst is synthesized, and it achieves 1.0 A cm at an ultralow overpotential of 304 mV in 1.0 M KOH, a substantial improvement of 106 and 182 mV compared to NiFeS-R and NiFe, respectively. Notably, NiFeSF-R exhibits exceptional stability, sustaining 1.0 A cm for over 500 h with negligible degradation. In an anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer, the NiFeSF-R anode stably achieves 1.0 A cm at 1.73 V for 700 h at 50 °C. This work highlights the potential of local coordination environment tuning to break scaling relationships for high-performance OER catalysts.

Cognitive function is a critical health indicator of older adults in later life. However, previous research has paid less attention to the impact of pre-retirement work-related characteristics on cognitive functions, especially in Asia. Thus, this study aims to examine the relationship between work-related factors and cognitive functions of the retired population, using Taiwan as an example.

Promoting intergenerational altruism among the current youth generation is crucial, and belief in a just world (BJW) may be a protective factor for intergenerational altruism. Inspired by the broaden-and-build theory of positive emotion, our research aims to investigate the relationship between BJW and intergenerational altruism among youths as well as to explore the mediating role of subjective well-being and the moderating role of authenticity in the focal relationship. Three empirical sub-studies with cross-sectional, experimental, and longitudinal designs were performed.

Chapman's Five Love Languages have been embraced by the public and incorporated into therapeutic practice, offering a simple framework for expressing and receiving love. However, it is unclear whether the proposed five love languages fully capture the multitude of ways that individuals express love. In three studies with individuals in long-term relationships residing in the United States (N = 696, 500, 499), we used a bottom-up approach to revise a previously developed measure of love languages using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses.

Objective: The study aims to explore how emotional distress is affected by childhood trauma through pathways involving alexithymia and psychological flexibility, and to construct a complete model established on this foundation, which will be provided as a theoretical theory for interventions in college students' mental health.
Methods: Note that 1002 college students were assessed using Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21), the 20-item Toronto alexithymia scale (TAS-20), and Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-2nd Edition (AAQ-II). After removing some non-compliant questionnaires, the remaining 885 were used for data analysis.
