Article Abstract

Information on the type and morphology of an extreme ultraviolet mask blank defect is of vital importance for mask blank repair and defect compensation. This study introduces an approach for defect type identification and three-dimensional (3D) morphology reconstruction based on photoemission electron microscopy. With the assistance of the neural network transfer learning method, the defect type can be precisely identified, and average error rates of 1.37% and 1.39% were achieved for the morphology parameters of bump and pit defects, respectively. Moreover, both defect-type identification and morphology-parameter reconstruction of phase defects are highly robust. This paper proposes a new, to the best of our knowledge, method for the type identification and 3D morphology characterization of phase defects, providing fundamental data for mask repair.

The electrochemical urea oxidation reaction (UOR) presents an energy-efficient alternative to the sluggish oxygen evolution reaction (OER), operating at a substantially lower thermodynamic potential and thereby reducing the energy input for hydrogen production by approximately 70%. Simultaneously, UOR facilitates wastewater remediation, offering dual environmental and energy benefits. In this work, we report a MnCO/Ni(OH) heterostructured nanoflower array directly grown on conductive carbon cloth that exhibits outstanding UOR catalytic activity and stability.

Background: More than 85% of very preterm infants (born <32 weeks' gestation) breathe spontaneously within 1 min of birth, however, more than 60% of infants receive positive pressure ventilation. Face mask application soon after birth might suppress breathing through the trigeminal nerve reflex, causing vocal cord closure and hypoxia. We aimed to investigate whether nasal mask continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) would improve CPAP success, reducing the need for positive pressure ventilation and intubation at birth, compared with face mask CPAP (fCPAP).

Early ERPs dissociate subjectively nonconscious low- and high-level face processing.

There is an ongoing debate about the extent to which faces are processed if they are not consciously perceived. In the present study, we used event-related potentials (ERPs) to investigate neural responses to faces and two types of control stimuli (monochrome color-matched ovals and Fourier phase-scrambled faces), which allowed us to dissociate low-level and high-level face processing. Based on a pre-registered sequential Bayesian sampling protocol, we recorded the electroencephalogram (EEG) from 40 participants and compared the average amplitude of early components of the ERP (P1, N170) between faces, scrambles, and blanks presented for 17 ms, while the mask followed directly or 200 ms after the target stimulus.
