Background: Magnetic resonance imaging of polymer gel dosimeters remains the de facto standard to obtain high-quality dose information. However, magnetic resonance imaging scanner access is limited and scan times are long. x-Ray computed tomography-based polymer gel dosimeters (XCT-PGDs) offer convenience owing to easier access to CT scanners, especially cone-beam CT (CBCT) scanners integrated with linear accelerators, although they suffer from low dose resolution and high noise sensitivity.

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the multifaceted clinical utility of the RUBY phantom as a comprehensive quality assurance (QA) platform in high-precision radiotherapy, particularly for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT). The objective was to validate its performance in patient positioning, imaging system accuracy, isocenter congruency, and treatment plan verification across various complex clinical scenarios.
Materials And Methods: A series of QA workflows were conducted using the RUBY phantom and its dedicated modular inserts.

Background/objectives: The rapid emergence of antibiotic-resistant in food and clinical environments necessitates new, clean-label antimicrobials. This study assessed eight Greek native essential oils-oregano, thyme, dittany, rosemary, peppermint, lavender, cistus and helichrysum-for activity against six genetically and phenotypically diverse strains (reference, , , -1, and O157:H7). We aimed to identify oils with broad-spectrum efficacy and clarify the chemical constituents responsible.

Background And Objective: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by insulin resistance and pancreatic β-cell dysfunction. Although current medications such as metformin can effectively control blood glucose levels, their ability to improve β-cell function and suppress chronic inflammation remains limited. Emodin, a natural compound with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and insulin-sensitizing properties, has shown therapeutic promise; however, its clinical application is constrained by poor water solubility and low bioavailability.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Alcoholic liver disease (ALD), a chronic liver injury induced by prolonged alcohol consumption, involves intricate multi-organ interactions, such as gut-liver axis disruption, as well as the synergistic effects of multiple factors including oxidative stress, intestinal dysbiosis, and metabolic disturbances. These complex pathological mechanisms render single-target therapies largely ineffective in achieving desirable therapeutic outcomes. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), characterized by its multi-target mechanisms and low toxicity, has demonstrated unique advantages in the treatment of ALD in the past decades.
