This study aimed to investigate the bonding strength and durability of titanium alloys bonded to zirconia-based materials produced using subtractive and additive digital methods. Two titanium alloy groups (N = 20) and two zirconia ceramic groups (N = 60) were fabricated using CAD/CAM milling from prefabricated discs (Ti-ML and Zr-ML), and 3D printing via SLM (Ti-3D) and DLP/LCM systems (Zr-3D). The specimens were bonded with dental cement to form four test groups: Zr-ML/Ti-ML, Zr-ML/Ti-3D, Zr-3D/Ti-ML, and Zr-3D/Ti-3D. Half of the specimens in each group underwent thermocycling to assess the effect of aging on bond strength. The density, microhardness, and surface morphology were evaluated, along with the shear bond strength and failure modes of the resin composites. Statistical differences were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD test across all groups. The 3D-printed specimens of both materials exhibited higher microhardness and lower surface roughness than the milled specimens. The shear bond strength (SBS) was the highest in the Ti-ML/Zr-ML combination group before and after thermocycling, which had more cohesive failures, whereas the lowest bond strength was observed in the Ti-3D/Zr-ML group. The adhesion between titanium and zirconia-based materials was the strongest when both were fabricated using subtractive methods, followed by additive and mixed-method combinations.

Recently, the regulatory effect of natural antioxidants on oleogels has attracted the attention of scholars. Whether natural antioxidants with different structures can co-gel with gelators remains unclear. In this study, the impact of water-soluble (dihydroquercetin and epicatechin) and fat-soluble (lycopene and L-ascorbate palmitate) antioxidants on the physicochemical properties of diacylglycerol oleogels was investigated.

Nanostructured cubic boron nitride (NS-cBN) has attracted significant attention due to its high hardness and excellent thermal stability, yet a systematic strategy to balance strength and toughness through atomically structural design remains elusive. Here, we integrate plasticity theory with large-scale atomistic simulations to elucidate the size-dependent roles of internal defects, i.e.

Different starch crystal structures significantly influence meat product quality, though their specific impacts on myofibrillar protein (MP) functionality remain unclear despite industry demand for optimized ingredients. This study compared how potato, corn, mung bean, and pea starches affect MP properties in minced pork. Our findings reveal that starch-protein interactions fundamentally regulate MP gel and emulsion properties through the following mechanisms: First, starch promotes protein aggregation by enhancing hydrophobic interactions and disulfide bond formation, affecting gel network crosslinking.

Background: Velocity-Based Training (VBT) is an emerging method in resistance training for objectively prescribing and monitoring training intensity and neuromuscular function. Given its growing popularity, assessing the validity and reliability of VBT devices is critical for strength and conditioning coaches.
Objective: The primary purpose of this review was twofold: (1) to identify and address methodological gaps in current assessments of VBT device validity and reliability, and (2) to propose and apply a novel, multi-layered, criterion-based framework-developed in collaboration with statisticians and domain experts-for evaluating these devices.

The design of carbon allotropes that simultaneously exhibit mechanical robustness and quantum functionalities remains a longstanding challenge. Here, we report a comprehensive first-principles study of cT16, a three-dimensional sp-hybridized carbon network with topologically interlinked graphene-like sheets. The structure features high ideal tensile and shear strengths, with pronounced anisotropy arising from strain-induced bond rehybridization and interlayer slipping mechanisms.
