Nitric oxide (NO) can perform its physiological role through protein -nitrosylation, a redox-based post-translational modification (PTM). This review details the specific molecular mechanisms and current detection technologies of -nitrosylation. It also comprehensively synthesizes emerging evidence of -nitrosylation roles in plant biological processes, including growth and development, immune signaling, stress responses and symbiotic nitrogen fixation. Furthermore, the review analyzes research progress on the crosstalk between -nitrosylation and other protein PTMs. Finally, unresolved issues such as the spatio-temporal resolution of SNO-proteome mapping and standardized protocols for reproducibility are pointed out. In summary, this work proposes a roadmap for future research.

Argemone mexicana is one of the known herbaceous plants hosting bioactive isoquinoline alkaloids. In the current study, an endophytic fungal isolate was studied for anti-inflammatory potential and the identification of its bioactive molecule. An endophytic fungus AMEF-14 was obtained from this plant and identified as Cladosporium ramotenellum based on microscopy and molecular tools.

Nitric oxide (NO) is essential for cardiovascular health and is purported as an ergogenic aid. Endothelial dysfunction and reduced endogenous NO production are hallmarks of heart failure (HF), which may contribute to impaired exercise capacity. Oral inorganic nitrate supplementation offers an exogenous route to increase bioavailable NO via reduction of nitrate by oral commensal bacteria.

Background: Although previous studies suggested associations between psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (AD), the directionality and causality of these relationships remain controversial. This study employed bidirectional Mendelian randomization to investigate the potential causal relationships between these two inflammatory skin conditions.
Methods: Genome-wide association statistics were obtained for psoriasis and AD from large-scale consortia and meta-analyses of genome-wide association studies.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has highlighted the critical need for safe and effective vaccines. In this study, subunit nanovaccine formulations were developed using the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles composed of poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(ε-caprolactone) (PEG-PCL). Two surfactants, poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and sodium cholate (SC), were evaluated during formulation via a modified water-in-oil-in-water (w/o/w) emulsion-solvent evaporation method.
