Cerebral ischemic stroke (CIS) is a severe cerebrovascular disease that poses numerous challenges in diagnosis and treatment, primarily attributed to blood-brain barrier (BBB) constraints and inherent drug targeting limitations. Biomimetic membrane nanotechnology, as an emerging therapeutic approach, offers a novel therapeutic strategy by emulating biological membrane structures and functions. This review comprehensively examines biomimetic nanomedicines (BMNPs) in CIS management, encompassing preparation methodologies, material characterization, and specific diagnostic/therapeutic applications.

The escalating threat of antimicrobial resistance is exacerbated by delayed diagnostics and improper antibiotics use, underscoring an urgent demand for rapid, versatile AST tools to support evidence-based prescribing. In this study, we present an innovative, generalizable phenotypic AST approach by quantifying bacterial gDNA copy number variations (CNVs) following 0.5-h-brief culturing with antibiotic exposure, termed spatially encapsulated emulsions (SEE)-phAST.

Bacterial biofilms contribute to 60%-80% of human infections, exhibiting resistance to traditional antibiotic treatment and contributing to chronic, relapsing diseases, particularly in healthcare settings. Traditional in-vitro and in-vivo models often fail to accurately replicate the human microenvironment. This mini review highlights the emerging use of organoid-based models that are three-dimensional, self-organizing structures derived from stem cells.

Subunit vaccines offer high biosafety but face limited immunogenicity. In this study, we utilized a biomimetic mineralization strategy, rhamnolipid-modified manganese-doped calcium phosphate nanoparticles (RMCP), to enhance the immunogenicity of subunit vaccines based on-bacterial-like particle (BLPs). Subcutaneous administration of the developed vaccine, which is prepared by encapsulating BLP vaccine with RMCP (named RMCP@COB17) enhanced significantly elevated serum IgG antibody levels in mice, induced a Th1/Th2-balanced immune response, and promoted the secretion of cytokines such as IFN-γ and IL-12.
