Currently, the most commonly used method to study the hydrodynamic performance of manta rays is computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. In this research, we investigated the effects of kinematic parameters-specifically wave number, amplitude, and frequency-on the hydrodynamic performance of manta rays during the swimming process by constructing a 2D CFD model. First, we verified the reasonableness of the 2D simulation. Subsequently, a 2D simulation was used to study the hydrodynamic performance of manta ray pectoral fins, and it was concluded that using low-amplitude, high-frequency propulsion with an optimal wave number has better energy utilization. Finally, we conducted orthogonal experiments, which revealed that the thrust reaches a maximum value of 8.55 N at a frequency of 1 Hz, amplitude of 0.3 c, and wave number of 0.4, and the quasi-propulsive efficiency reaches a maximum value of 82.4% at a frequency of 0.8 Hz, amplitude of 0.3 c, and wave number of 0.4. In general, we can regulate the wave number to a range of 0.35 to 0.4, the frequency to between 0.7 and 0.9 Hz, and the amplitude to between 0.3 c and 0.325 c. This configuration yields a thrust exceeding 3.04 N and a quasi-propulsive efficiency surpassing 70.4%.

We address the problem of identifying a 2+1D topologically ordered phase using measurements on the ground-state wave function. For nonchiral topological order, we describe a series of bulk multipartite entanglement measures that extract the invariants ∑_{a} d_{a}^{2}θ_{a}^{r} for any r≥2, where d_{a} and θ_{a} are the quantum dimension and topological spin of an anyon a, respectively. These invariants are obtained as expectation values of permutation operators between 2r replicas of the wave function, applying different permutations on four distinct regions of the plane.

In a broad class of cosmological models where spacetime is described by a pseudo-Riemannian manifold, photons propagate along null geodesics, and their number is conserved, upcoming gravitational wave (GW) observations can be combined with measurements of the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) angular scale to provide model-independent estimates of the sound horizon at the baryon drag epoch. By focusing on the accuracy expected from forthcoming surveys such as the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna GW standard sirens and dark energy spectroscopic instrument (DESI) or Euclid angular BAO measurements, we forecast a relative precision of σ_{r_{d}}/r_{d}∼1.5% within the redshift range z≲1.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the age at which children with voice disorders can complete videostroboscopy, acoustic, and aerodynamic voice assessments. Factors predicting videostroboscopy tolerance were examined.
Method: A retrospective observational cohort design was used.

Background: Diabetic patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) are at an increased risk of cardiovascular events as compared to non-diabetic patients. This analysis investigated outcomes of diabetic patients presenting with multivessel disease (MVD) and STEMI in a contemporary trial and the relevance of an immediate versus staged multivessel PCI strategy in this high-risk population.
Methods: Patients enrolled in the MULTISTARS AMI trial were stratified according to the presence/absence of diabetes.
