Wafer-level step height standards with high optical contrast are crucial in order to improve the accuracy of automatic image recognition in integrated circuits inspection instruments. While conventional Si-SiOsingle-layer film step height standards typically employ metal coatings to address low contrast issues at low step heights, this approach can be problematic due to the introduction of metal particle contamination. In this paper, we propose a high-contrast wafer-level step height standard based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) dielectric multilayers. The SOI multilayers, composed of Si-SiO-Si layers are designed to achieve consistent high optical contrast across varying step heights by maximizing reflectance ratio. We designed three step height standards of 20 nm, 100 nm, 500 nm with different SOI multilayers. All were fabricated on 8 inch wafers by merging film deposition, electron-beam lithography and dry etching. The maximum contrast was two orders higher than single-layer film steps of the same height, while maintaining precision in step height measurement. This novel wafer-level step height standards have the potential to enhance image recognition efficiency while mitigating the risk of metal contamination to detection systems and production lines.

Comparative clinical efficacy of nickel-titanium shape memory staples versus miniplate for Bartoníček-Rammelt type III and IV posterior malleolar fractures. A retrospective analysis of 47 consecutive patients treated between January 2022 and June 2024 documented operative time, intraoperative blood loss, fluoroscopy times, healing time, complications, postoperative fracture gap distance (mm), and articular surface step-off (mm) at the ankle joint. Ankle function was assessed using the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) ankle-hindfoot score, the Manchester-Oxford Foot Questionnaire (MOXFQ), and range of motion measurements at 3, 6, 12, and 14 months.

The Fisher anatomical subunit repair is a versatile, effective, and highly reproducible technique. It utilizes mathematical precision in design, avoids multi-point closure, minimizes scar burden, and does not compromise horizontal lip length for vertical height in various deformities.

Purpose: Wearable sensors that track physical activity in daily life may offer insights that help healthcare providers optimize care plans for individuals with cancer. Therefore, we examined the links between lower health-related fitness and worse patient-reported health and various step-based metrics.
Methods: The Alberta Moving Beyond Breast Cancer Study enrolled 1,528 women recently diagnosed with breast cancer and measured health-related fitness and patient-reported health outcomes near diagnosis, and one year later.
