Here, 2-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole was used as fluorophore with ESIPT effect and a new fluorescent probe for sequential detection of Cu and HS in food, environment and biological imaging was rationally designed and synthesized by the arrival of coumarin. The effects of molecular structure modification on ESIPT characteristic were investigated thoroughly. Identification mechanism, especially the recognition site was discussed in detail with the help of DFT calculations, H NMR titration and HRMS analysis. Based on the settling effect of HS on Cu, significant "on-off-on" fluorescence change was obtained and sequential detection of Cu and HS was achieved. The detection limits for sequential detection of Cu and HS were as low as 78.0 nM and 52.2 nM. In view of the good performance, probe was successfully applied to precise quantitative detection of target substances in foodstuff such as actual water samples, traditional Chinese medicine, red wine and fruits.

Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) is standard of care in advanced diffuse pleural mesothelioma (DPM), but its role in the perioperative management of DPM is unclear. In tandem, circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) ultra-sensitive residual disease detection has shown promise in providing a molecular readout of ICB efficacy across resectable cancers. This phase 2 trial investigated neoadjuvant nivolumab and nivolumab/ipilimumab in resectable DPM along with tumor-informed liquid biopsy residual disease assessments.

Real-time monitoring of senescent cells is of great significance for understanding and intervening in aging. Since overexpression of endogenous β-galactosidase (β-gal) is not unique to senescent cells, probes relying solely on β-gal activity could yield inaccurate senescent cell detection. Herein, we designed a dual-mode sequential response AND logic NIR probe MFB-βgal, which contains a β-gal-cleavable unit and a morpholine unit, serving as an enzymatic activity trigger and a lysosomal targeting moiety, respectively.

Sepsis remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly among critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs). Traditional diagnostic approaches, such as the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) and systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) criteria, often detect sepsis after significant organ dysfunction has occurred, limiting the potential for early intervention. In this study, we reviewed how artificial intelligence (AI)-driven methodologies, including machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and natural language processing (NLP), can aid physicians.

Tree-based scan statistics (TBSS) are data mining methods that screen thousands of hierarchically related health outcomes to detect unsuspected adverse drug effects. TBSS traditionally analyze claims data with outcomes defined via diagnosis codes. TBSS have not been previously applied to rich clinical information in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
