Post-harvest diseases can lead to quality loss, energy decline, and shortened storage periods for fruits and vegetables. Numerous studies have shown that methyl jasmonate (MeJA) can be active in various growth and development pathways in plants, especially in the post-harvest storage and metabolite synthesis of fruits and vegetables. The core transcription factor MYC2 of JA can also participate in MeJA-mediated reactions to regulate plant activities. On the one hand, it directly regulates or indirectly synthesizes metabolites to regulate the post-harvest storage of plant fruits. On the other hand, MYC2 can assist plants in facing biotic and abiotic stresses by affecting related enzyme activities and gene expression levels. This review briefly summarizes the regulatory role of MeJA in post-harvest storage and metabolite synthesis in plants, aiming to provide inspiration for subsequent discoveries exploring additional mechanisms of MeJA action in plant growth and development.

Vitamin A and vitamin D deficiencies continue to pose serious health challenges, especially in low- and middle-income countries like Ethiopia. One promising way to tackle this issue is by fortifying everyday foods-such as cooking oils-with essential nutrients to help improve the overall intake across communities. This study investigated the stbility of vitamins A and D in fortified soybean oil during common Ethiopian cooking practices and over time during storage.

This work aims to construct a nanocomposite coating made from chitosan (CS) and hydrothermally prepared ceria nanoparticles (hCeO NPs), and thoroughly evaluate its influence on extending the lifespan of post-harvest bananas over a 12-day period. The hCeO NPs were characterized to confirm their synthesis before being integrated within the CS matrix. The morphological, structural, mechanical, water-, and UV-barrier properties of nanocomposite coating films were determined.

The rice weevil ( L.) is one of the most destructive pests of stored cereal grains, particularly wheat, leading to considerable post-harvest losses and posing serious threats to global food security and international trade. Rapid and accurate identification of infestations is essential for implementing timely pest management strategies and adhering to phytosanitary regulations.

To address post-harvest issues of litchi, including browning, water loss, and nutrient degradation, a moisture microenvironment-regulating electro spun membrane was prepared by incorporating hydrophobic carnauba wax (CW)@nano silica (SiO) composite powder into a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) matrix via electro spinning. The dynamic water penetration equilibrium was evaluated by monitoring the water vapor absorption of the electrospun membrane within 12 h, while the effects of CW@SiO on the micro-structure, mechanical properties, hydrophobicity, and thermal stability were investigated. Results showed that the tensile strength of the PET-2.
