Objective: The impact of desert-originated dust has been underestimated in fine particulate matters (PM)-related disease burden studies. This study aimed to assess the association of long-term dust PM exposure and all-cause mortality among older adults in China.
Methods: A cohort study using electronic health records (2010-2020) across Weinan, a city in northwest China, which experiences persistently high PM levels and frequent sand and dust storms, included 1,553,724 adults aged ≥45 years.

Introduction: Aortic arch calcification (AAC) is an underestimated marker of cardiovascular risk, associated with a higher incidence of major cardiovascular events and mortality.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective, descriptive study included 292 patients admitted in May 2021 to the Internal Medicine Department of Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital. The presence of AAC was assessed via chest X-rays, alongside clinical data, risk factors, and previous and 12-month cardiovascular events.

Background: People with HIV (PWH) are at elevated cardiovascular risk, but existing calculators have suboptimal calibration for this population. The American Heart Association developed new prediction equations (PREVENT) to replace the pooled cohort equations (PCE). PREVENT has not been validated among PWH.

Background: The increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) associated with family history of both colorectal in situ or invasive carcinomas (Stage 0 to IV) and colorectal polyps is attributed solely to family history of CRC, resulting in an underestimation of the actual risk. We aimed to assess the association between overall and early-onset CRC (EOCRC) risk and family history of both colorectal carcinomas and polyps.
Methods: We conducted a nationwide cohort study leveraging Swedish family-cancer datasets with follow-up from 1964 to 2018.
