This systematic review explores the impact of diuretic timing and strategy on outcomes in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). A total of seven studies were included, comprising randomized controlled trials (RCTs), pre-specified sub-analyses, and observational data. Early administration of intravenous loop diuretics, particularly within the first 60 to 90 minutes of hospital arrival, was generally associated with improved short-term outcomes, including reduced in-hospital and 30-day mortality.

Nasal irrigation (NI) is an effective, safe, low-cost strategy for treating and preventing upper respiratory tract diseases. High-volume, low-pressure saline irrigations are the most efficient method for removing infectious agents, allergens, and inflammatory mediators. This article reviews clinical evidence supporting NI use in various conditions: nasal congestion in infants, recurrent respiratory infections, acute and chronic rhinosinusitis, allergic and gestational rhinitis, empty nose syndrome, and post-endoscopic sinus surgery care.

Background: Intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) may increase in acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) due to fluid accumulation in the splanchnic system, contributing to renal venous congestion and impaired diuresis. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of IAP for early diuretic response in patients with ADHF.
Methods: This prospective, single-center study included 83 patients (mean age 71.

Horner syndrome is a rare complication following thyroid surgery, typically presenting with ptosis, miosis, and ocular congestion. We report the case of a 30-year-old female diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma who underwent left thyroid lobectomy, isthmectomy, and comprehensive left cervical lymph node dissection. On the first postoperative day, the patient developed left-sided ptosis, a constricted pupil, blurred vision, and conjunctival congestion, leading to a clinical diagnosis of Horner syndrome.
