Article Abstract

Artificial intelligence holds a lot of promise in tackling global societal challenges. However, there is still no consensus on how companies can effectively harness AI to promote green innovation (GI). We develop a moderated mediation model grounded in absorptive capacity theory to fill this research gap. In this paper, our empirical study based on data drawn from 361 Chinese firms reveals the significant roles of two critical capacities, potential absorptive capacity (PAC) and realized absorptive capacity (RAC), in fostering a positive relationship between AI capabilities and GI. Notably, this study's results show that environmental heterogeneity (EH) amplifies the mediating effects of PAC and RAC. This implies that companies with access to Artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities will likely learn and absorb available information and knowledge outside the organizations better. This improves GI, mainly when EH levels are high. The present work advances the research by addressing how AI impacts GI through different mediating and moderating factors. It can help inform companies wanting to achieve GI amid sustainability imperatives.

Hepcidin is the key hyposideremic hormone produced primarily by the liver. However, recent reports reveal extra-hepatic functional sources of hepcidin, including the intestine, the site of dietary iron absorption. To determine whether intestinal hepcidin may play a role in plasma iron lowering, we generated transgenic mice overexpressing the peptide specifically in this tissue.

How data assets influence enterprise persistent innovation: Evidence from China.

PLoS One

September 2025

School of Economics and Business Administration, Chongqing University, Chongqing, China.

This study investigates the impact of data assets on enterprise persistent innovation using panel data from Chinese A-share listed firms from 2011 to 2022. The results indicate that data assets significantly enhance both the inputs and outputs of enterprise persistent innovation, with the findings remaining robust under endogeneity tests. Mediation analysis reveals that data assets influence enterprise persistent innovation through three key channels: process innovation, business innovation, and technological innovation.

Application of lignin extracted from fibers and aminated lignin in anionic dyes contaminated water remediation.

Int J Phytoremediation

September 2025

Department of Fashion and Textile Design, College of Arts and Design, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In this paper, lignin was chemically extracted from fibers and modified with branched polyethyleneimine (BPEI) and the resulting samples were applied for the adsorption of two anionic dyes; Acid red 183 (AR183) and Acid blue 25 (AB25) from aqueous suspension. Analytical characterization methods including SEM, FT-IR, TGA/DTG, and XRD were used to analyze the studied samples. The images of the extracted lignin displayed a rough feature.

Unlabelled: Lactobacilli, recognized as beneficial bacteria within the human body, are celebrated for their multifaceted probiotic functions, including the regulation of intestinal flora, enhancement of body immunity, and promotion of nutrient absorption. This study comprehensively analyzed the genotypic and phenotypic characteristics of () strains isolated from the intestines of healthy chicks and assessed their potential as probiotics. The assembled genome consists of 29,521,986 bp, and a total of 1,771 coding sequences (CDSs) were predicted.

Aquaculture and animal producers are increasingly exploring natural additives such as for their health-promoting and sustainability-enhancing roles. Known primarily as a sweetener, also contains bioactive compounds, such as stevioside and rebaudioside A (Reb A), which exhibit antibacterial, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and metabolic benefits. Recent studies suggest that these compounds may also exert prebiotic-like activities by modulating the gut microbiota, promoting the growth of beneficial bacterial populations (e.
