A new family of azaborine fluorophores, consisting of ten compounds, has been developed that mimics the chromophore of green fluorescent protein, with conformation locked by a hydroxyboron bridge. These fluorophores exhibit fluorescence Stokes shifts up to 100 nm (0.56 eV) and high brightness (>10 M cm) in the 408-525 nm range. Their potential utility for sensing applications was demonstrated by constructing zinc sensors capable of detecting 100 micromolar Zn concentrations in biological systems with two-photon microscopy.

Covering: up to April 2025Bacterial aromatic polyketides represent a notable class of natural products that have found extensive applications in clinical treatments. In their biosynthesis, oxidative rearrangements represent critical transformations that typically afford diverse scaffolds, structural rigidity, and biological activities. In this context, it is evident that redox enzymes are frequently implicated in various rearrangement processes, whereby they facilitate the transformation of pathway precursors into mature natural products.

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is a promising therapy for neurological and inflammatory disorders across multiple organ systems. However, conventional rigid interfaces fail to accommodate dynamic mechanical environments, leading to mechanical mismatches, tissue irritation, and unstable long-term interfaces. Although soft neural interfaces address these limitations, maintaining mechanical durability and stable electrical performance remains challenging.

In particular, ALD-processed SnO has demonstrated great potential as an electron transport layer in flexible perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and tandem modules. However, the poor electrical conductivities and surface wettabilities of amorphous SnO remain critical challenges for commercialization.

Mechanoresponsive molecular devices are capable of exhibiting dynamic responses to external mechanical stimuli, enabling applications in smart materials, nano-devices, and flexible electronics. However, energy conversion induced by mechanical stimuli requires efficient energy dissipation mechanisms. Traditional methods often involve bond breaking or incomplete energy release, which can lead to device failure during continuous operations.

The R-I-M-E framework, an acronym for Reporter, Interpreter, Manager, and Educator, is a developmental model designed to evaluate and enhance clinical competence among medical trainees. Introduced by Dr. Louis Pangaro in the 1990s, it has gained widespread acceptance in medical education due to its clarity, structured approach, and applicability across specialties.
