seeds (AQSs) are used as an analgesic, antiphlogistic, and diuretic in traditional herbal medicine. We developed an ultra-performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) simultaneous component analysis method to analyze eight compounds (chlorogenic acid, isochlorogenic acid A, isochlorogenic acid C, hederacolchiside F, hederacoside C, dipsacoside B, akebia saponin D, and α-hederin) as markers for the quality assessment of AQSs. The separation of the eight analytes was performed in an Acquity UPLC BEH C reversed-phase analytical column. The method was validated with respect to linearity (coefficient of determination ≥ 0.994), recovery (90.32-108.18%; relative standard deviation (RSD) < 10.0%), and precision (RSD < 10%). The analysis of the AQSs confirmed that the eight components were found in concentrations of 0.42-9.07 mg/g. The cytotoxicity of the AQS extract and the eight compounds against human cancer cell lines, including MDA-MB-231 (breast), A549 (lung), HCT 116 (colon), AsPC-1 (pancreas), and A2780 (ovarian), was also assessed, with cisplatin used as a positive control. In addition, dipsacoside B showed high cytotoxicity in all cell lines. This assay will help to enhance efficacy and clinical research as well as provide a validated quality assessment of AQS extract and related traditional herbal medicines.

A method for determination of ten kinds of sweeteners in soybean products by multi-plug filtration cleanup (-PFC) combined with ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) was established. The sample was extracted with acetonitrile (containing 1% formic acid), degreased by using -hexane liquid-liquid extraction and purified by solid phase extraction using an -PFC column (Oasis PRiME HLB). The analytes were separated by using a Waters ACQUITY UPLC® BEH C (2.

The significant global energy consumption strongly emphasizes the crucial role of net-zero or green structures in ensuring a sustainable future. Considering this aspect, incorporating thermal insulation materials into building components is a well-accepted method that helps to enhance thermal comfort in buildings. Furthermore, integrating architectural components made from solid refuse materials retrieved from the environment can have significant environmental benefits.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide. The tumor microenvironment (TME), particularly the interactions between endothelial cells and cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), plays a pivotal role in promoting tumor growth, angiogenesis, oxidative stress, and therapy resistance. The HUVEC-fibroblast co-culture model closely mimics stromal-endothelial interactions observed in CRC, enabling mechanistic insights not achievable in monocultures.

The human kidneys play a pivotal role in regulating blood pressure, water, and salt homeostasis, but assessment of renal function typically requires invasive methods. Deuterium metabolic imaging (DMI) is a novel, noninvasive technique for mapping tissue-specific uptake and metabolism of deuterium-labeled tracers. This study evaluates the feasibility of renal DMI at 7-Tesla (7T) to track deuterium-labeled tracers with high spatial and temporal resolution, aiming to establish a foundation for potential clinical applications in the noninvasive investigation of renal physiology and pathophysiology.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a powerful analytical technique with a wide range of applications. To support the analysis of diverse and complex samples, various NMR tools and accessories have been created. Three-dimensional (3D) printing is an underutilized production method for NMR hardware, mainly due to the lack of H NMR background-free resins.
