Article Abstract
A discrete platinum(II)-metallacycle was designed using perylene bisimide fluorophore (PPy) and 90° Pt(II) (Pt) units as key components, synthesized through a "coordination-driven self-assembly" approach, which can be applied in imaging-guided synergistic cancer photothermal-chemotherapy.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) opens a window on observing spontaneous activities of the human brain in vivo. However, the high complexity of fMRI signals makes brain functional representations intractable. Background: Endometriosis symptoms have multifaceted manifestations, and there are few approved nonsurgical treatment options. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists/antagonists for endometriosis vary on efficacy, safety profile, and out-of-pocket (OOP) cost, among other features.
Objectives: This study quantified the importance that women with endometriosis in the United States (US) placed on pain and non-pain features that differ among these medications.
Individual belief in a rigid definition of gender underlies significant social costs, from the gender pay gap, violence and discrimination against transgender and gender diverse people, to global economic losses. These beliefs are often rooted in essentialist thinking that gender is distinct, non-overlapping, unchangeable, and biologically based. Gender is a multidimensional social concept, partly informed by perceptions of sex, which is a distinct concept referring to a collection of biological traits.
