We propose a general theory of charge, spin, and orbital diffusion based on Keldysh formalism. Our findings indicate that the diffusivity of orbital angular momentum in metals is much lower than that of spin or charge due to the strong orbital intermixing in crystals. Furthermore, our theory introduces the concept of "spin-orbit polarization" by which a pure orbital (spin) current induces a longitudinal spin (orbital) current, a process as efficient as spin polarization in ferromagnets. Finally, we find that orbital currents undergo momentum swapping, even in the absence of spin-orbit coupling. This theory establishes several key parameters for orbital transport of direct importance to experiments.

Phosphorus(V)-centered porphyrins (P(V)-porphyrins) are an important class of functional dyes in many fields of research, and axial ligands on the phosphorus atom affect the electronic properties of P(V)-porphyrins and add functions. Herein, we report on the synthesis and characterization of a hitherto unknown P(V)-porphyrin having hydrogen atoms as axial ligands (1·PF , PF is a counter anion). Synthesis of 1·PF was achieved by treatment of dichloro-derivative (2·Cl) with LiAlH followed by AgPF via hydride reduction accompanied by one-electron reduction and one-electron oxidation.

RuO, the benchmark catalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), has traditionally been considered Pauli paramagnetic; however, recent findings have demonstrated its antiferromagnetic (AFM) properties, hinting at the opportunity to enhance RuO's OER performance by manipulating its magnetic traits. In this study, we successfully induced weak ferromagnetism in commercial RuO, transitioning it from an AFM state using an electrochemical sodiation method. This process resulted in high activity, achieving an overpotential of 145 mV to reach 10 mA cm and extending the service hours by more than 13 times compared to pristine RuO in 0.
