Background: Postoperative cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage and bleeding are major postoperative complications that increase healthcare system costs. The use of Hemopatch® Sealing Hemostat has been shown to reduce the incidence of such postoperative complications. This technical report aims to provide neurosurgeons with the best recommendations for the effective use of Hemopatch® as a hemostatic and dural sealant in cranial and spinal procedures.

Hydrocephalus following intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) is a complex neurological condition resulting from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) circulation disruptions due to intraventricular blood entry. This review synthesizes current evidence on pathophysiology, mechanisms, and treatment strategies. Following IVH, erythrocyte lysis releases hemoglobin and iron, triggering oxidative stress and ferroptosis, while thrombin activation, TGF-β1-mediated fibrosis, inflammatory cascades, and ependymal damage collectively contribute to ventricular enlargement.

Neurofilament light chain (NfL) is a sensitive marker of neuroaxonal injury with growing clinical relevance in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Across cohorts, blood and CSF NfL concentrations are higher in AD than controls, with reported 1.7-1.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by a complex interplay between amyloid-β (Aβ) and tau pathologies, with increasing evidence implicating cerebral blood flow (CBF) alterations as a critical, yet underexplored, contributor to disease progression. This study aimed to investigate the associations between regional CBF and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers- Aβ1-42, total tau (T-Tau), and phosphorylated tau (P-Tau181)-across the AD continuum.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional analysis using data from 416 participants enrolled in the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), including cognitively normal individuals, patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and those with AD.

Background: Short telomere length (TL), a hallmark of biological ageing, has been associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD), but its pathophysiological role remains unclear. This study explored the relationship between blood leukocyte TL (LTL), cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) AD biomarkers changes, and brain structure across early stages of the AD continuum.

Methods: We included 346 cognitively unimpaired participants (aged 49-71) from the ALFA cohort, enriched for AD risk (53.
