Background: The optimal number of examined lymph nodes (ELN) for accurate staging and prognosis for esophageal cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant therapy remains controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of ELN count on pathologic staging and survival outcomes and to develop a predictive model for lymph node positivity in this patient population.
Methods: Data were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database and a multicenter cohort.

Background: Gastric cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, with its prognosis influenced by factors such as tumor clinical stage, histological type, and the patient's overall health. Recent studies highlight the critical role of lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) in the tumor microenvironment. Perturbations in LEC function in gastric cancer, marked by aberrant activation or damage, disrupt lymphatic fluid dynamics and impede immune cell infiltration, thereby modulating tumor progression and patient prognosis.

In temperate regions, respiratory viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 are better transmitted in winter than in summer. Understanding how the weather is associated with SARS-CoV-2 transmissibility can enhance projections of COVID-19 incidence and improve estimation of the effectiveness of control measures. During the pandemic, transmissibility was tracked by the reproduction number .

Background: Neutropenia is a common laboratory finding in children, therefore it is a common referral reason to pediatric hematology units. This study hypothesizes that most neutropenic children do not require pediatric hematology consultation, and that key clinical indicators can guide the need for referral.
Methods: Medical records of 180 patients who were admitted to a tertiary reference center, were evaluated in terms of demographical data, physical examination findings, laboratory findings, and outcome measures.
