Crystal symmetry, which governs the local atomic coordination and bonding environment, is one of the paramount constituents that intrinsically dictate materials' functionalities. However, engineering crystal symmetry is not straightforward due to the isotropically strong covalent/ionic bonds in crystals. Layered two-dimensional materials offer an ideal platform for crystal engineering because of the ease of interlayer symmetry operations. However, controlling the crystal symmetry remains challenging due to the ease of gliding perpendicular to the Z direction. Herein, we proposed a substrate-guided growth mechanism to atomically fabricate AB'-stacked SnSe superlattices, containing alternating SnSe slabs with periodic interlayer mirror and gliding symmetry operations, by chemical vapor deposition. Some higher-order phases such as 6 R, 12 R, and 18 C can be accessed, exhibiting modulated nonlinear optical responses suggested by first-principle calculations. Charge transfer from mica substrates stabilizes the high-order SnSe phases. Our approach shows a promising strategy for realizing topological phases via stackingtronics.

Reverse intersystem crossing (RISC) process is critical for thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials to realize spin-flip of triplet excitons in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), but the RISC processes of most TADF materials are not fast enough, undermining electroluminescence (EL) efficiency stability and operational lifetime. Herein, a symmetry breaking strategy to accelerate RISC processes is proposed. By designing asymmetric electron-withdrawing backbone consisting of benzonitrile and xanthone/thioxanthone groups, two new asymmetric TADF molecules, 4tCzCN-pXT and 4tCzCN-pTXT, with multiple 3,6-di-tert-butylcarbazole donors are successfully developed.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the safety and effectiveness of an accelerated (AR) versus conservative (CR) rehabilitation regimen following surgical repair of proximal hamstring tendon avulsions.
Methods: This prospective randomized controlled trial (RCT) allocated patients undergoing proximal hamstring tendon repair to either a braced, partial weight-bearing rehabilitation regime (CR = 30) or an accelerated, unbraced regime, which permitted full weight-bearing as tolerated (AR = 27). Patients were evaluated pre-operatively and at 6 weeks, 3 and 6 months post-surgery, via patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), patient satisfaction and global rating of change (GRC) scores.
Craniosynostosis (CS), the premature fusion of 1 or more cranial sutures, can present with coexisting deformation plagiocephaly or brachiocephaly. While surgical correction is the standard for CS, the management of cases with concurrent positional head shape deformities remains undefined. This study aims to describe clinical outcomes in this subset of patients and evaluate the role of adjunct orthotic therapy in their management.

Background: The insertion of implants and tip plasties has been performed in Asian patients for an attractive and higher nasal profile, which can result in diverse tip deformations such as notching, pinching, alar retraction, incompetent external valve, deviated tip, cephalic rotation, and lateral crus malposition due to inappropriate manipulation of the lower lateral cartilage and/or silicone capsular contracture. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and utility of applying lateral crural strut graft (LCSG) as a consistent and appropriate surgical method to correct various nasal tip deformities that occur as complications following rhinoplasty in Asian patients.
Methods: We prospectively studied 37 patients with a minimum follow-up of 12 months among 53 patients who underwent secondary rhinoplasty, including LCSG, between January 2016 and December 2020.
