Article Abstract

Lysosomes are acidic membrane-bound organelles that aid digestion, excretion, and cell renewal. The lysosomal membranes are essential for maintaining lysosomal functions and cellular homeostasis. In this work, we developed a molecular "NOR" logic gate, , by introducing malachite green into the spirocyclic rhodamine. requires restriction of molecular rotation of the malachite green motif (, tight membrane structure) and a large amount of H ions to convert the spirocyclic rhodamine into the zwitterionic form (, acidic environment) to produce a fluorescent product (), providing a fluorogenic probe to visualize the lysosomal membrane dynamics in living cells with subdiffraction resolution by using HyVolution (also known as Lightning), an unconventional and inexpensive super-resolution imaging approach based on a basic confocal optical system.

The monolayer transistor, where the semiconductor layer is a single molecular layer, offers an ideal platform for exploring transport mechanisms both theoretically and experimentally by eliminating the influence of spatially correlated microstructure. However, the structure-property relations in polymer monolayers remain poorly understood, leading to low transistor performance to date. Herein, a self-confinement effect is demonstrated in the polymer monolayer with nanofibrillar microstructures and edge-on orientation, as characterized by the 4D scanning confocal electron diffraction method.

Janus MXene Fiber Constructed via Flake Orientation Engineering.

Adv Mater

The orientation of MXene flakes has received increasing research attention as it plays a critical role in determining the performance of MXene-based assemblies. Engineering MXene flakes into horizontal or vertical orientations can offer distinct advantages such as higher electrical conductivity, higher mechanical strength, and more efficient ion/molecule transport across the flakes. However, the benefits of horizontal and vertical orientations are mutually exclusive, and both of them possess structural symmetry that restricts their ability for stimuli-responsive deformation.

Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond demonstrate advantages in biosensing due to their exceptional photostability and long spin coherence time. However, clinical applications of NV centers are significantly limited because their spin states lack responsiveness to nonmagnetic biomolecules. This work presents a nanocatalytic-amplified quantum sensing platform targeting tyrosinase (TYR), a key biomarker for melanoma.

2D materials have emerged as promising candidates for next-generation field-effect transistors (FETs) owing to the atomically thin geometry and excellent electrostatic gate control. Here, double-gate vertical sidewall FETs based on chemical vapor deposition-grown monolayer WS are demonstrated and, for the first time, report vertical multi-channel nanosheet FETs (NSFETs). By implementing a dual-step sidewall profile, steep SiO surfaces are obtained, which enabled seamless WS adhesion and contributed to enhanced device yield.

G-Quadruplex (G4) DNA structures play a crucial role in regulating various biological processes, rendering them attractive targets for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The development of G4-targeted fluorescent probes will significantly enhance our understanding of G4 DNA biology in vivo and improve the precision of diagnosing and treating genetic diseases. Herein, we report on a regioisomer of a thiazole orange derivative (SQ2) as a promising fluorescent dye for G4 DNA structures and demonstrate its application in both cell and tumor tissue imaging.
