Introduction: The Robotics Committee of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) conducted a study of surgeons' perspectives on robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) as compared to laparoscopic surgery (LS) in four domains: performance, requirements, challenges, and surgical care outcomes.
Methods: An exploratory sequential mixed-methods study was performed with a thematic analysis of surgeon interviews using the framework method, followed by an online survey of SAGES Robotics Committee members. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, and ANOVA were utilized for analysis.

Background: The perioperative and oncological results of laparoscopic total mesorectal excision (laTME) and transanal total mesorectal excision (taTME) have been compared. However, because there are not enough high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs), the results cannot be trusted. In order to get more trustworthy results, this article analyzed matched cohort studies.

Synchronous bilateral renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is rare and often linked to hereditary syndromes such as Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease. We present a 27-year-old male with acute appendicitis, whose CT incidentally revealed bilateral renal tumors and pancreatic cysts. Further evaluation identified cerebellar and retinal hemangioblastomas, confirming VHL.

Minimally invasive surgical approaches pose challenges for patients with large renal masses (≥7 cm), prompting many urologists to opt for open radical nephrectomy. However, open surgery is associated with higher morbidity due to prolonged visceral exposure and increased intraoperative bleeding.

High transsphincteric anal fistulas represent a significant therapeutic challenge due to the risk of fecal incontinence associated with division of the sphincter complex. Management must be individualized, particularly in recurrent cases. We report the case of a 55-year-old male with a recurrent high posterior transsphincteric anal fistula who had undergone multiple previous surgical interventions.
