Article Abstract

The paper partially covered Active Constrained Layer Damping (ACLD) cantilever beams' dynamic modeling, active vibration control, and parameter optimization techniques as the main topic of this research. The dynamic model of the viscoelastic sandwich beam is created by merging the finite element approach with the Golla Hughes McTavish (GHM) model. The governing equation is constructed based on Hamilton's principle. After the joint reduction of physical space and state space, the model is modified to comply with the demands of active control. The control parameters are optimized based on the Kalman filter and genetic algorithm. The effect of various ACLD coverage architectures and excitation signals on the system's vibration is investigated. According to the research, the genetic algorithm's optimization iteration can quickly find the best solution while achieving accurate model tracking, increasing the effectiveness and precision of active control. The Kalman filter can effectively suppress the impact of vibration and noise exposure to random excitation on the system.

Existing treatments for chronic pain often prove ineffective and carry adverse side effects, highlighting the need for better analgesics, including non-pharmacological treatments. We demonstrate that transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), when repeatedly applied during the early phase of nerve injury in mice, produces sustained analgesic effects by activating the dorsal column nucleus (DCN)-thalamic-cortical pathway, which transmits vibration, discriminative touch, and proprioception. Mechanistically, TENS selectively activates glutamatergic neurons in the DCN (DCN) via exciting Aβ low-threshold mechanoreceptors (Aβ-LTMRs) in dorsal root ganglia (DRGs).

High-Pressure Synthesis and Characterization of the Novel Potassium Superhydride KH.

Through high-pressure diamond anvil cell experiments, we report the synthesis of two novel potassium superhydrides (KH-I and KH-II) and investigate their structural and vibrational properties via synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, complemented by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Above 17 GPa at room temperature, KH-II and H react to form KH-I; this reaction can be accelerated with temperature. KH-I possesses a face-centered-cubic () potassium sublattice with a slight rhombohedral distortion (space group 3̅).
