is a highly invasive and destructive pest distributed worldwide. Chemical insecticides remain the primary measure for their control; however, this species has already developed resistance to several insecticides. In recent years, there have been several reports of monitoring resistance in China, but continuous monitoring results are lacking and do not even span a decade. In this study, we monitored the dynamics of resistance to seven insecticides among 11 geographically distinct Chinese populations of (2010-2013; follow-up in 2023). The 11 populations were found to adapt rapidly to antibiotic insecticides (spinosad, emamectin benzoate, and avermectin), reaching high levels of insecticide resistance in several areas. Overall, a decreasing trend in resistance to organophosphorus insecticides (chlorpyrifos and trichlorfon) was observed, whereas pyrethroid (beta-cypermethrin and cyhalothrin) resistance trends were observed to both increase and decrease. The monitoring of field resistance among different populations over the duration of this study is important for improving the efficiency and sustainability of agricultural pest management, and the results provide a scientific basis for the development of more effective resistance management strategies.

This study evaluated how dietary black seed oil (Nigella sativa L.) against the diazinon waterborne toxicity on Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), focusing on growth performance, hematological and biochemical parameters as well as oxidative stress markers and histological changes. A 40-day feeding trial was carried out using four experimental groups: Group 1 (control group), Group 2 (N.

Background: Long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) are the main vector control tools and remain protective against malaria, even in the presence of high pyrethroid resistance. However, in sub-Saharan Africa, the estimated percentage of the population sleeping under LLINs is low. Hence, this qualitative study was conducted to explore perceptions about LLINs and the reasons for low LLIN use in southern Ethiopia.

The fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda, FAW) has developed varying degrees of resistance to chlorantraniliprole (CAP). Apoptosis serves as a critical defense mechanism against pesticide stress in insects. Here, we identified a juvenile hormone (JH)-mediated apoptotic pathway through RNA-seq, revealing nine JH-induced apoptosis-related genes (four positively correlated and five negatively correlated).

Spodoptera frugiperda (FAW) is a notorious polyphagous pest that has developed resistance to various insecticides including diamide insecticides. Our previous study established a FAW cyantraniliprole-resistant (SfCYAN-R) strain by laboratory resistance selection of susceptible strain (SfCYAN-S), however, the potential resistance mechanisms of FAW to cyantraniliprole remain unclear. In this study, SfNrf6 encoding nose resistant to fluoxetine (Nrf) protein 6 was identified to be upregulated in SfCYAN-R strain compared with SfCYAN-S strain based on RNA-Seq data and RT-qPCR.

The Asian Corn Borer (ACB), Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenée) is a devastating pest of maize, causing significant yield and economic losses in Asia. GABA receptor inhibitors have served as effective tools for controlling ACB larvae over the past several decades. However, the toxicity levels and pharmacological properties of two insecticides, fluxametamide and fipronil against the ACB are still unclear.
